As someone with hearing loss (both genetic and environmental in origin), this model did not work for me. I tried them on (without mute) at a not-too-noisy Mexican taco stand. They muffled the surrounding sounds but I could not understand my dinner companion two feet from my side.That said, I think they would be great for people with normal hearing to tamp down the crazy noise in our towns, trains, etc. and protect your hearing while you can. I like the clear version, for being less visible as well as cool as ice.I am keeping the "Quiet" model for the second half of my night's sleep. That's when the freeway roar a mile away kicks up and I'm easily awakened. I suspect that wearing them for more than four hours at a time may not be healthy since there is no air flow. That may be one advantage of the "Engage" model, that it lets air into the canal. Same with foam earplugs.However, these Loops are easier to carry around and pop in the ears. For instance, when you get stuck on a train or wait on line near a cellphone yeller. I also carry curved bluetooth earbuds that block significant decibels and look normal.Audiologists say that the noise sensitive should not rely on earplugs, that it increases our sensitivity. I dunno. Constant exposure to loud noise induces panic and then passivity in me, like a trauma response. On the one hand, you don't want to become a recluse. On the other hand, accommodations and kindness toward the hearing impaired are almost nonexistent. And as the American cacaphony rises along with our stress levels, we're like frogs in boiling water. Noise is toxic, cumulative and makes us impulsive and insensitive.So yeah, this is a needed product.

I am very glad to have bought these!I am a middle school teacher, and bought these mostly for lunch duty in the cafeteria. In an all boys middle school, it can get a bit noisy there. These definitely reduce the amount of sound through my ears while allowing me to have conversations with people nearby.It took about two weeks of regular use to get familiar with them, but now I forget they are in my ears. They are very comfortable.I've tried others, and these are by far the easiest to put in my ear. I would definitely recommend!

I got these because I have become sensitive to loud noises and I am a teacher and I have a 3 year old. They say they block out loud sounds yet communication is clear- but that is not true. I put them in and yes, noise levels drop but so does voices and words- I can't hear what others are saying so pretty much as good as cheap earplugs in my opinion. On plus side they are discreet so I kept them to wear to sports events that I supervise. When someone talks to me, I have to take them out. Not quite worth the money in my opinion.

These block just the right amount of sound, its like putting on sunglasses on a bright day, you can still tell what's around you, it's just less intense. Carrying case is tiny, and very light, so having it on my keychain doesn't seem like it'll be an issue. Plenty of tip sizes to choose from to get a comfortable fit. The only reason I don't wear these all the time is that by the end of my day my ear canal feels a bit moist, but that's hardly the designers fault, I doubt any ear plug is meant to be 24/7

Work great for reducing distraction and ear pain in noisy environments. Love that you can still hear well enough to have a conversation with someone else while wearing them.

My husband has noice sensitivity and gets easily overwhelmed when there are too many sounds and noises going on at once. He has to take “breaks” if we’re in a loud restaurant or bar to decompress, and he hates loud conversations at family gatherings. Ironically, he also played in a heavy metal band for 20ish years and had hearing loss due to exposure to loud music.I got him a pair of Loops after reading the reviews on them and figuring they’d help take the “edge” off in social environments. We were out to dinner the first time he tried them on, and he IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference. He said that the other voices in the room “faded into the background” and he was able to focus on our conversation instead of being distracted. This was the outcome I was hoping for, so that alone was a win.What I DIDN’T expect, was for me to no longer be able to hear him when he was speaking! 😆 Due to my husbands hearing loss, he has a tendency to speak way louder than normal since he can’t hear himself. I’ve asked him for years to “use an inside voice”, which seems impossible to him. Even when I’ve asked him to whisper, his whisper is a normal speaking voice and when he actually whispers, he thinks I’m lying when I say that I can hear him because he can’t hear himself. Anyways, all this to say, as soon as he put the Loops in he started speaking in the softest voice I’ve ever heard him use. So much so that I had to move my chair next to him to hear him over the other people in the restaurant (go figure!).According to my husband, he’s able to hear himself for the first time in forever and his voice sounds very loud in his own ears, which causes him to speak lower than he ever has. This is an added benefit that I never dreamed of, but that myself and his parents are happy with.They come in an easy to carry case, with different sized pieces and “mute” inserts. My husband says they’re very comfortable to wear and they travel conveniently.

I was very optimistic about these as I have frequent sensory overload difficulties with sound and I was hoping they would be the solution for me. They come with 7 options for ear tips so I was reasonably sure I’d find one that worked for me. However even using Loop’s fitting instructions none of them would stay in place for me. As for returns I was hoping for a refund as my ears just seem to not work with this design however they require a return and as the tips have all been used in my ears I don’t feel comfortable sending my genetic material covered ear tips back when i can’t know what will be done with them. So I’m just taking the loss… it sucks to lose out on money but it doesn’t seem cool to be sending these back used. Yuck

I purchased these loop earplugs on the suggestion of my physio therapists. Over the years I have bought countless pairs of earplugs only to have them fall out, uncomfortable and I could not sleep in them. I've had 5 concussions and these earplugs have been the only ones that don't fall put, I can sleep in them and it really filters the noise level but I can still make out what people are saying. These ear plugs have been life saving for me!It comes in a small box with different sizes of ear buds to fit your ears and 2 noise controlling fittings. I carry them everywhere i go. I did the quiz on the loop website store to see which ones I needed since I didn't know which to choose from and I'm very happy overall. I'm actually going to purchase another pair just for sleeping to block out more sound. I highly recommend these loop earplugs to everyone!

My problem was trying to read while waiting outside my son's music classes weekly while surrounded by gangs of teenagers. They never stop talking to each other.Tried it out today! My Loops actually made the environment bearable. I could continue concentrating in reading. I'm sure I'm going to use them in the office as well. 6 sets of earbuds in s, m, and l sizes were included. 3 pairs in silicon and 3 pairs in moldable squishy foam. Carrying case is so cute too.Recommended!
