🔬 Measure, Connect, Excel!
The Lab Analytical Equipment Handheld Portable Spectrometer is a cutting-edge device designed for precise light measurement across a wide wavelength range of 340-1000nm. Its compact size and lightweight design make it perfect for on-the-go analysis, while its compatibility with Android devices and PC software allows for easy data management and reporting.

It works
The device seems to work, it displays the light spectrum, I have nothing to compare it to so I can't tell the accuracy. There's a link to download the app on the website. I only tested connecting via USBC on android phone. The only thing I tried so far that didn't work was to test on the street lights at night from a distance (maybe 10-20meters away), I guess it's not sensitive enough. But it works on inside lights (even very dim) from a close distance and it also works outside on the sun, sunrise, sunset, etc.

Great value spectrometer for the price! Good things really do come in small packages!
I have started growing plants indoors with a high pressure aeroponics system. I am LED chips as my light source and needed to know the correct PAR and Umol. I have a pretty good lux meter but that measures light spectrum that is not necessarily useful for plant growth. I purchased a PAR meter on Amazon that had trouble with the Bluetooth connection to my phone. It only measured the 400nm to 700nm range and only provided basic Umol and percentage of red blue and green light. The listing showed a spectrum display however, in reality, it was just a numerical display of red blue and green light. And a daily light index once you put in the hours of light per day in.I decided to look for a spectrometer instead. The prices of spectrometers is quite high. $500 on the lower price range and thousands on the higher end of the range.I am always looking for bargains and boy did I find one! This $143 spectrometer is quite sophisticated and awesome. There is an app for mobile phones and software for PC as well. It doesn't rely on Bluetooth or wireless, which some people might not prefer. But I wasn't bothered at all by the need for a wired connection. I believe that this provides a better method of communication, IMHO. In the short time that I have owned it the software has already been updated. From my understanding it will also be compatible with 3rd party software which is a bonus. The spectrometer is surprisingly compact. Hence the good things in small packages reference.Lastly, the seller is new to Amazon. This may worry some buyers. Don't worry, Aria is their sales representative and excellent at responding to to inquiries. I had a bunch of questions and Aria always responded by the following day China time. Aria never took longer than 48 hours to respond to my questions.I highly recommend both the product and vendor. This spectrometer is a steal at this price point. Don't miss out on this great deal if you're a grower like myself.

Lack of Documentation
It works! Hope you like reading Chinese! You can switch the application to English (must do it every time you use it). The reports are pretty. The user interface is terrible and virtually undocumented. The power levels don't seem to match up to what other meters read. I think this is because there is no summing up but rather it's reported nanometer by nanometer. Overall it's a good tool at a reasonable price. Once again I should emphasize hot really, really poor the user interface is! Hopefully they will update their software.

Great spectrometer for the price
This spectrometer works great if you just need a ballpark uncalibrated reading of a pretty wide range of the spectrum from UV-A to NIR. The accuracy of the wavelengths themselves was pretty spot on, though unfortunately I have no way of validating the W/m2 power measurements they are plenty for my needs of comparing multiple items rather than finding their absolute values. The instructions are nonexistent but most of it is self explanatory. A screenshot of the only fully Chinese page in the Android app is attached to this review. It also isn't mentioned anywhere, but the Android app is called 'flameeye' by Hangzhou Daohuo Technology Co., Ltd. Unfortunately PDF/CSV export does not work in the Android app, though you can view saved data in the app itself. There are a fair few native and computed values exposed in the app which make it a lot more useful like CIE color coordinates, RA and wavelength peak related measures. This is exposed as a standard USB=>UART serial device without any special drivers so you can automate it as well though it takes a bit of capture+reverse engineering of the protocol.

Only works tethered to phone, but quite useful for checking for unhealthy lighting
Great for checking healthiness of lighting. Used it to measure and visually examine amount of blue light and CRI. Very useful. It only works tethered to my phone, which is OK. I'm using Android.

Good spectrometer - still could be improved.
Good spectrometer now that the infrared artifact issue has been resolved. I REALLY wish the data was exportable - it would be a much more useful tool.
