Great game!
I bought this game in England on vacation and the kids and I have really loved it. The rules can seem a bit confusing to understand at first, but my 9 and 12 year old have no trouble understanding how to play once I explain them and the game mechanics are really quite simple. The character cards are unique and my kids fight for their favorites and add imagination to the play which is great. There are a few rules and some cards that I think need clarifying and I'm not sure how "balanced" the game will be between the wicked witch and Aslan's alies because we haven't played enough times. However, even with this said, I'd still strongly recommend the game. My kids love Narnia and we all love games though so I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for a mindless boggle-type game.

Good game for young fans of Narnia
I was introduced to playing Risk whilst still at school and can remember days spread out with my friends playing the game - it took gaming to a whole new level compared to the games like Monopoly which we had played before. I couldn't wait, as a caring uncle, for the opportunity to introduce my nephews to the game when they grew old enough to play - hopefully at an earlier age than I did.Because they were familiar with the tales of Narnia I bought a copy of Narnia Risk thinking that this junior version of the game might appeal to them more. As other reviewers have remarked the rules are different (and more complex) than normal Risk making for a shorter game. It doesn't work for me, but it served its purpose - the kids loved it and for a few years we played this version until we were ready to start exploring other games including Risk. The star ratings I've given represent my views not the kids who I'm sure had a lot of fun playing this game with the promise that one day I would introduce them to proper Risk.

Great risk game for younger children.
I love risk games but they are quite difficalt and complecated. This game means that younger children who are not quite old enough to play the normal risk can enjoy playing this junior risk. This has been made very well and despite bieng simpler it is still good fun. A must have for all familys.

Junior?? - more rules than normal
More complicated than normal risk with narnia cards that make events happen and character tokens that can be brought into battles to alter how the dice roles score. These characters are then stuck on the board in one place unless defeated or you get a specific card that allows you to call them to help.Doesn't really play like risk at all in fact as armies don't grow in size and their placement is random each turn.Junior in that each turn is quicker, there is no real strategy involved and the game has a definite stop (when the lion witch and wardrobe card is drawn) but just finished playing with my 9 and 7 year old (who have previously played full normal risk with me a couple of times and understood it beter than this!) and overall disappointed.Almost works (e.g. dice rolling a six to kill a big enemy or a 5/6 to kill a small one feels good) but just doesn't - can't recommend and probably won't play again.
