Especially LOVE the Handle!!!
I've been using a Care Quad Cane for over 20 years. Recently I noticed that I was having major shoulder pain & problems with my thumb. The handle on the Care Cane is round with a thin, spongy covering. A while back I had ordered a Hugo Cane with a different base to it. I loved the handle on that cane but found the stand alone balance to be lacking as it frequent fell over. I did notice what when I used that particular cane that my shoulder & thumb did NOT hurt as bad; so I started searching for the handle on my Hugo cane & could NOT find one. I even went to a local mobility supply store to see what they had available. He tried to sell me the exact same cane I had been using, then suggested that I contact Hugo to see IF they would sell me their handle for my current cane. Never thought about each manufacturer having a specific handle. Of course, I came home & got on Amazon to see IF they carried Hugo handles. Nope...not there; but the Hugo Quad Cane did come up & it came with the handle I wanted at HALF the price of any cane I could find locally. So, I ordered 2 of them (one for each car). Now I have my Care Canes up for sale. I purely LOVE the flat, wide handle on the Hugo Quad Cane. It spreads the stress on my hand which relieves the stress to my thumb & shoulder. I've only been using this cane for about a week & I've already REDUCED my visits to my doctor & the additional prescription the doc was giving me for my pain!!! Anytime I can take LESS meds, it is a PLUS in my book!!!This cane is sturdy, it easily stands alone when I need to remove my hand from it. It's height adjustable & PERFECT for my size. I bought it because of the handle; but have discovered it better for my general needs. My old canes are now in storage until I can find a buyer!!! The old canes are black (only option). My new ones are cocoa & they have many other colors to suit your preference!!! I have already suggested these canes to several of my friends who are unhappy with the cane they are currently using. From here on out, Hugo will be my go to product to look for FIRST!!!

Excellent in every way!
I am elderly and require either a walker or a cane to feel safe. I bought this cane because I did not feel safe anymore going outside on the grass with my regular stick style cane. Plus when trying to do a little watering or moving a hose I had to lay my cane down to accomplish my task. With this Hugo 4 prong small base cane, it stands alone and eliminates the problem of not holding the cane. The base is very strong and sturdy, I am overweight and even when leaning on the cane with both hands I feel safe. I like the 4 prong small base because it is easy to control and use on stairs or porch. Just took me a little while to get use to the 4 prong instead of a regular stick cane. I am glad I did not go with the larger base, I feel it would be too heavy and hard to navigate. I recommend the small base. This cane is easy to adjust the height, the grip handle is comfortable fits my hand nicely and can easily be adjusted for left or right handed person. I am glad I made the switch to this type of cane. Highly recommend this brand and style. Best thing is the cane stands alone which makes it nice no matter where you are.

Good buy.
This has everything you need in a quad. The hand grip may be a little too hard/firm if you are used to a more spongy feel. Good sturdy construction. I clip a Nano miniature keychain flashlight onto the hanging strap, which comes in handy when walking my dogs and other outings in the night. A good buy for a small base quad.

At 6'3" it's hard to find a cane that fits well... This one goes all the way!
It's so nice to use this one. it checks all my boxes of needs in a cane. nice and sturdy, and always stays where I leave it. No more trying to retrieve my cane off of the floor or ground and loosing balance! Uneven ground takes a little getting use to compared to a single foot, but well worth the practice and paying attention. So great not to to worry about dropping it when I need a second hand for something I'm doing.

Everything I wanted
This is my first cane. For now, it is primarily for confidence. However, though not heavy, it will serve as a necessity if needed as it is very strong. The handle or grip is comfortable and shows thought in design. The four feet on the base offer a very secure feeling, but do not extend far enough to be in the way. It will stand on its own, too. No need to find a place to hang or prop it. Yet, there is a wrist band to prevent me from walking off and leaving it. And, finally, the length adjustment is outstanding in number of adjustment points and a lock position when finished. I should also mention that I selected it by relying souly on the "narrow your choices" resource on the left of the page. Thank you.

Stable standing..........
Seems to be steady and safe to assist me with my walking. Like that is does stand alone with no fuss if floor / ground fairly level. I've been using my wood cane with a 3 point foot rubber adapter to help it stand alone. It's ok as long as the floor is level otherwise it will fall over. That's why I'm trying a 4 foot cane....stability.One big complaint. The factory shrink wraps registration to the handle which requires a sharp blade to cut the shrink wrap off. After which you may have a nice long scratch on your new cane! THAT really make me angry!! The shrink wrap isn't the best way to attach these papers. So really dumb and stupid!!!!!!!!

More a review of Quad canes than this cane
I had a Total Hip Replacement a few weeks ago and knew I’d need a cane for awhile. Looking at it you’d think a quad cane would offer far more support than a single head cane but that’s not how it works . I had two different quad canes and this issue is that the quad cane never lands on all four areas at the same time. It’s too unsteady as you try to adjust it as it lands. Think about it, the cane is too your side so even the slightest lean and it’ll only hit 2 feet, it’s also in front of you making it land on only one of the feet. So you need to constantly adjust the landing with each step. I found a single cane to be far more steady. This was the first time I used a cane and only needed one for 14 days so maybe longer use would have made me adjust but I could not feel any advantage to a quad-cane.
