Improve Your Sight-reading! Piano, Level 2: A Progressive, Interactive Approach to Sight-reading (Faber Edition: Improve Your Sight-Reading)

Very technical. I'm using the FJH Sight reading and rhythm every day series and am on level 3B. I have been sight reading from Alfred's All-time favorites level 1 and the Faber classics/jazz & blues/Christmas books level 3. Harris' book at level 2 is still tricky if you focus on all the articulations.The exercises are great for working on sight reading. They use simple chord changes and cadences. But they're not very interesting to play. I like the FJH Sight reading and rhythm every day series better.

This book was very helpful in building up my sightreading skills. Personally, I've been playing since I was around 6 years old but I was self taught and never learned how to sightread well. This book helped me go back and work on sightreading, really recommend if you have a similar situation!

I'm on book two, it's very basic, which is exactly what I needed! Sight reading at the piano is quite difficult for me, but I'm finally taking the time to learn, practice, and this book is a great resource. I will be buying the next level, and hope there are more to come. I've included a scan of one page, just to show the difficulty level, I hope that's not a copyright offense.Also, the pages lay flat easily, so the book is very cooperative, which usually doesn't get mentioned in reviews.

I think this is a great series of books to improve sight reading. It is well designed and comprised of short exercises with a focus on several keys at a time. The tunes are pleasant as well.

Simple, straightforward exercises that definitely help with sight reading practice. I bought this for my student, but i am also using it for sight reading practice. This is a great series.

Este libro es excelente para practicar la lectura a primera vista, la dificultad aumenta gradualmente y se dan buenos tips para realizar correctamente la lectura. Ojo, viene en inglés, lo que no representa mayor problema porque lo que se leen son en su mayoría notas musicales.En este nivel las manos no se mueven de posición durante los ejercicios, se requieren conocimientos previos en las tonalidades de Do, Sol y Fa mayores y sus relativos. Ademas estudia en un par de capítulos Re mayor y la negra con puntillo.Lo recomiendo ampliamente para quien haya estudiado piano previamente entre seis meses y un año, también es muy útil el nivel uno y el resto de la serie.

Muy buen libro para continuar aprendiendo la lectura musical, lo recomiendo.

The purchase arrived on time. The progession of the Paul Harris series is excellent. I would recommend the books.
