not loud. VERY easy to use.
So, I'm an arthritic 74-yr-old female leather worker (hobbyist). I needed to make a sort of mold/form/jig to wrap leather around while I made the wallet. This is my first time using a saw to cut smooth corners, and it worked beautifully. Since it was my first try, I then smoothed down my slightly jaggedy curve with a belt sander, also small, that I own. I feel so good about this purchase. The price was outstandingly good, the blades went in easy as fishin'. The saw itself sits very securely with its clamp on my workshop table. No worries there. Since I do small stuff, the saw table is more than large enough for my needs. I love this!

Nice kit, easy setup
Wanted a scroll saw that could be disassembled as my workbench is small and I can't afford the space permanently. This clamps onto the workbench and is very easy to assemble. It comes with a variety of blades for cutting various materials. As with any thin blade, it cuts best and straighter if you cut slowly and are careful with how much pressure you apply. Push real hard and the blade will drift to one side. Go slow and you get a nice clean cut along the desired cut line. The bed is plastic as most dremel accessories. Also you must order the miter guide separately as it is not included. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase.

Great portable hobby/light use saw
I bought this saw in order to do light cutting work and help my son with his Pinewood Derby car. I was not expecting a professional quality saw so I was very happy with the quality and use of this product. It comes in a handy storage case and setup was quick and easy. I have only tried it as a mounted saw so far but it was able to cut through 1/2" bass wood smoothly and very fast. Using it on my son's thick Pinewood block was a little tougher and very slow going but it was able to make it through and the blade is still sharp and no lost teeth. My 7 year old son was able to use the saw with no trouble at all for larger straight cuts (since no real finger guards around the blade, he is not ready for anything more). The downsides to the saw is that there is no fencing/miter guard with it or listed as an accessory to buy even though it is in the book (though I understand this can be purchased from customer support), and the mounting clamps were not wide enough to fit on my table. I had to mount it on a countertop which caused more vibration than I would have liked so I will be looking for ways to reduce it. We also used the vacuum attachment option and hooked up my Dyson. It sucked up a good amount of the dust but was very loud (this is dependent on your vacuum). Overall, this is a great portable saw especially for people like me (in an apt) who do not have a dedicated workshop or place to keep it out. I will only be using it for occasional projects so for me it was the perfect option.

Perfect size for home use
Absolutely love this thing. I sit in my recliner and saw. It is small enough to use in the house. Works great for everything I have tried so far. Love the easy blade change and dust control. I connect it to my house vacuum. The professional probably wouldn't appreciate it but as a crafter learning wood carving and wood working it suits my purposes. I have it on a rolling desk with my carving knives and dremel tools. I just roll it up to my chair when I am ready to work and roll it back when I'm done.

Loud, but overall extremely happy with purchase
I just got this today, total beginner to desktop powered saws, and I made quick work of curved 1/4 inch thick basswood. There's definitely a small learning curve, but as is any new tool, this is a given. The only downside I have with it so far is that it's LOUD. Even at 1 setting, it's quite loud. Your neighbors or roommates might not be happy about you using it. I don't know whether this is loud for a scroll saw or not, but to me, it is what it is.I really like the vacuum port. While it didn't fit my Dyson vacuum, I was quickly able to made a quick and easy adapter out of a spare toilet paper roll. While my vacuum was on, I didn't notice any dust floating around or even near the work surface. It's a very good design and I'm very glad it has it.I can't say much about the blades, but I did buy replacements from another vendor which aren't OEM blades. Made about 30 or so of these wood things so far and the saw seems fine.I do wish it came with the miter gauge.

so I know what a top of the line scroll saw "feels" like. This saw is *not* a Hegner
I purchased this saw to use as a small quiet "scroll saw" for cutting out small parts for model ships. I have a full size Hegner, so I know what a top of the line scroll saw "feels" like. This saw is *not* a Hegner. If you accept that, and and use this saw for light duty precise sawing it seems to be a great little saw. I attempted to saw a 5/8ths piece of pine, and while the saw will cut it without stalling, it is very difficult to cut straight precise lines. Working with 1/4 inch basswood, the saw is pretty precise and cuts without effort. The result was straight enough that after a quick buff with sandpaper I had a very good glue joint. It is quiet (about as loud as a sewing machine) and clamped in its "table" the vibration is minimal (for s scroll saw). Out of the box, the table is flat and the blade is perpendicular to the table surface resulting in a nice square cut. Clamp it to a sturdy table top and you are ready to go in minutes. Changing blades is very easy, but the blade tension is not adjustable. It only takes pinned blades so forget using jeweler's saw blades or pin-less scroll saw blades. The on/off switch is a bit stiff, and when the saw is mounted in the table I find it uncomfortable to turn on and off. I really think this unit should be used with a simple on/off foot switch (dead man switch).I have used this saw for two and a half years and it still works great.
