Must buy for both new players and returning fans
Restoration nailed it once again. This is a fantastic set with new and interesting mechanics. All 3 (4) heroes serve a different style of play, carving their own niche into the currently well-formed meta, whether that be Philippa as a glass-cannon, Eredin with his risk/reward enragement, Yennefer with her incredible boost potential, or Triss with her auto-damage at melee range, complementing her typical ranged play style.Ongoing schemes, surprisingly, don’t feel like they power-creep the previous iteration of schemes, rather they act as a novel boon which allows for further expressions of strategy. As is typical with all sets of Unmatched, this box is either a perfect standalone game or something which exponentially increases the value of your current collection. Personally, both Realm’s Fall and Steel and Silver are must-buys, even at the slightly-higher price point as is expected of a licensed IP product.

Really good light gaming that's kid friendly
I picked this game up being a huge fan of the Witcher and an even bigger fan of board games in general. We recently gave this a spin and both liked it. The characters are different so the combat is asymmetrical... that is, apples fight oranges so to speak. Think chess vs checkers. A big part of the strategy is playing to your strengths or the other player's weaknesses. What I didn't know going into this game is that this is one of two Witcher UnMatched game sets. The other has Geralt, Ciri, etc. That set is called Steel and Silver. So buying both gives you more diversity in the game system. And you can even use sets outside the Witcher universe if you wanted to.Overall this is a good game for some simple light gaming fun that is also easy to get kids into. It seems though a bit expensive for what you get, and because it kind of sucks you in to getting other sets. But, I can recommend it.

The quality and strategy of the Unmatched Series of board games is continued with this addition.
The Unmatched Board game series was born from a Star Wars game that was published years ago. It was fun then and it is fun now!As an owner of many of the other sets, and as a casual watcher of the show, The Witcher, I thought that I would add this particular set to my collection. As usual, the artwork and components continue the quality of the game series. The box is crafted in such a way that everything can be stored in its proper place and the board is double sided to allow for two different scenarios. This edition has three playable characters: Jennifer & Truss, Philippa, and Eredin. Each character comes with one or four companion tokens. In terms of game play, there are a few additional rules with this set that might make it slightly more advanced than some of the others. For example, one of the boards is divided into an "above deck" and "below deck" portion that the characters can move between. And, each hero in this set has ongoing scheme cards that stay in play until they are discarded. These are fun modifications that add a little twist to the game play but don't really ramp up the complexity by a lot.I have yet to mix and match the characters from this set with those of some other sets, but it is always fun to see how doing so affects gameplay.Yes, the price seems a bit extreme, but if you really are a fan of the Witcher, it is a worthy purchase. I truly hope that the Unmatched series continues to bring more sets to market!

Great characters and components - beautiful package
Unmatched: The Witcher - Realms Fall is a fantastic addition to the Unmatched series — whether you’re new to the system or adding to your collection. Like other Unmatched sets, it works perfectly as a standalone game or can be combined with other sets for even more variety. The characters in this box are powerful, unique, and a blast to play. Each comes with their own deck full of strategic moves and lore-rich abilities that can seriously turn the tide of a match. A lot of the fun comes from learning how to play to your character’s strengths or exploit your opponent’s weaknesses. The artwork and components are excellent, which is something Restoration Games consistently nails. The game board is double-sided for different scenarios, and the box is thoughtfully designed with a storage tray that keeps everything organized — a huge plus for setup and cleanup. The miniatures look great right out of the box and are perfect for anyone who enjoys painting their figures.Even if you haven’t played Unmatched before, the rules are easy to learn and clearly written, so you’ll be up and running in minutes. Overall, this is a super fun game. Highly recommended!

Easy to learn, fun to play
I have not played any Unmatched before this, but I do have other games from this company. Component quality is great and the rules are easy to follow. I really appreciate the nice storage tray - you can get the game out and start playing within minutes once you know the rules.I tried it with a 12 year old and a 9 year old, and both enjoyed it. The 12 year old had no problem keeping up with adults and the 9 year old did better than I expected. The game itself plays fast and hits hard. I liked the mix of characters in this set and was surprised how differently they play from one another. The rules are straightforward but each character's deck has their own unique cards with extra rules text on them, which adds variety and lore flavor as well.I do feel like it's expensive for what amounts to a few figures, some cards, and a board but there is an absolute ton of gaming value in this set and the overall quality is high. The box includes a pamphlet showing other Unmatched sets, and I think it's a strong endorsement that my kids are already waving it in my face begging to get some more.
