A very simple device that allows more intuitive control for the Mbot, particularly when motion is required. the remote that comes with the robot can be clunky. Keep in mind that it requires coding to use. The controller's joysticks transmit -255 to +255 on both x and y axis to the robot, so the code you create needs to capture those values and apply them in form of output (e.g. movement).I was teaching a group of kids at a local elementary school basic engineering and they only understood why a simple line following algorithm was 'cool' only after they tried to 'out drive' or catch up to the Mbot running the algorithm. When you put this controller in their hands and they feel confident in their ability to control the Mbot because the controller reacts much the same way a console game controller does. That confidence quickly fades when the Mbot unfailingly catches them. It really helps make the Mbot part of a world they already understand and helps build their interest in engineering.

This Remote Controller works great from Mblock platform for control of Ranger Robot.

Nice remote, but unfortunately can only use Pi. I have to learn a new language just for the remote, not counting for the other products from this company.

I agree with several other reviewers. I'm and engineer and IT guy, yet I was not able to get this product to pair and function with the mbot. I tried with and without the Dongle bluetooth. Both the included instructions and the websites have terrible instructions that are incomplete and conflicting. Unless you are a part of an experienced support group that has already figured out these problems, forget it. It appears that makeblock is so busy marketing and selling their products to school groups that they don't have time to put out decent documentation.

Youngsters don't need your phone

If you have any of the other thigns from makeblock, you practically literally need this! It pairs easily, and makes controlling many of their projects much more fun and intuitive. A little on thje pricey side, as are many of the makeblock things, but totally worth it if not for anything else besides the fact that they have thigns for all ages and skill levels, all of which integrate nicely with one another and the makeblock coding app. Well worth the price I think, whether you're getting this to help encourage your child to pursue and develop their interests, or someone in their late 30's desperately trying to reverse their wasted teens and 20's and has finally begun to chase their own passions!

We have really good experience with Makeblock product, They make really good quality Robot STEM Educational Kit. As long as they have enough attention span would be beneficial for developing their critical and creative thinking skills. It's really good for early age leaning numbers, directions, and more educational logical thinking and programing in their mind. mbot is a really fun robot, you can follow with the guide to code and play, or DIY it with your own imagination to make your mBot completely different from everyone else, this addition wireless bluetooth remote controller came with 3 built -in airlock control models, you can switch drone, hovercraft, vehicle model freely. simple controller, easy to use to control your Mbot. The controller make kids more confident to control the robot, keep their interest, and simple to understand , add much more fun.
