What is the difference between original and the max, that warrants a 50% higher price?

For me they last longer. I hide them in every corner room in my house. For me worth the price.

How long are these good for - 3, 6, or 12 month? I'm away a lot so need to have a longer duration large roach control.

I do not normally have a roach problem but last summer I began noticing a few inside my house so I bought these Combat traps. I put a couple inside my house and several in the garage. This quickly eliminated any roach sightings, indoors or out, and I have not had to buy a new set. So, from my experience mine were good for at least 6-9 months, maybe longer.

So does a large roach Combat also kill the small ones?

Yes. The reason these are bigger is for bigger roaches such as palmetto bugs to be able to get in there. It doesn't discriminate the size of the bug. If you have small roaches, It might be best to get the smaller ones.
