Clever and inventive - don't be put off by the cover design
I almost didn't look inside this book because the cover was so unattractive in my view. But I'm glad I did. This book is full of ideas and the instructions are good. This book is an inspiration for making art out of everyday objects. Great for working with kids or getting ideas for classroom projects. Or stretching your imagination.

Printmaking Ninja Shares Her Awesome Powers
"One of my superpowers is that I can turn just about anything into an interesting stamp, printing block, or tool," writes Traci Bunkers, author of this thoroughly enjoyable and highly creative how-to manual that lays out cool printmaking projects for every week in the year. Each project comes with clear instructions, detailed materials lists, well photographed examples, and expert tips. Perhaps the most important thing that Traci brings to this book is a spirit of adventure, an artistic license that offers the reader permission to have fun and get funky with colors, textures, and patterns. As an experienced printmaker, I was a bit skeptical whether this book was right for me, but I find Traci's projects engaging, her instructions clear and precise, and there's a little something on every page to inspire me to kick it up a notch and have some fun. She offers practical tips about foraging for materials in every unlikely "art supply" store you can imagine --from Home Depot to the Dollar Store-- and provides excellent suggestions for upcycling tired, old items into beloved art pieces.

Both inspiring and practical
I have bought a fair number of how-to books on the topics of mixed media and paper art, and I have to say that this is one that I will be using on a regular basis. The ideas are simple enough to implement in minimum time and with everyday materials (mostly), but lend themselves to endless invention and creative twists. This is not a book about how to make complicated, single-purpose artistic inventions, nor does it focus on a printed gallery of artwork. Instead you can think of Print and Stamp Lab as a manual, one that you can grab from the shelf to be creating awesome layers in your artwork in no time flat.

Interesting ways to use common products
I ordered this book as a gift for a friend. I couldn't resist peeking inside. The book makes a person look at commond items as a means to create very unique patterns for cardmaking or scrapbooking or even making wrap for gifts. I think my friend will enjoy the book and I'm looking forward to some work-days to try out these techniques with her.

fun stuff
This book has many easy and fun ideas...already printed towels with a group of friends using a flip flop to print with, what a great idea! Lots of ways to print with many household items that i have lying around the house. As soon as I find the time there are many other processes that I'm anxious to dig in to.

Excellent
This book did not disappoint... I love it! In fact, I love all of the Lab Series books: Collage Lab, Drawing Lab, and now Print & Stamp Lab. The book takes a "hands on" approach when introducing the reader to ideas and techniques... and it's full of great pictures for the visual learner (which most artists are). I consider this book to be a valuable addition to my library of art instruction resources... I use it for both inspiration and clarity of things I want to try.

Full of inventive varieties of printing and stamping.
What a lovely interesting book! This has so many fascinating ideas for stamping and printing. Different ways of rolling on a pattern, or making your own design of stamp or patterned brayer. Things I've not thought of.Wonderful!

Printing and stomping for the seriously obsessive...
I wavered for a long time about getting this book...far too long. Have enjoyed every minute of using it to stimulate new ideas and remember how to do do some of the techniques I had forgotten about. Only one problem with this book...my printing and homemade stamping collection has grown beyond four shoeboxes. We're heading for 8-10 boxes of stuff....and worth it.

Good for inspiration
This book is great for inspiration, especially if you have children, and are stuck for something to do in the holidays. It opens your eyes to possibilities in using everyday objects, materials lying about the house.....and would save you a fortune in buying pre-made stamps that you would probably never use again.

Depends what you are looking for.
Disappointing based on the previous reviews. As a printmaker I was was looking for low-fi printing techniques to use with primary age children and couldn't really find anything useful.
