It was a wonderful read. The blurb says : ''A dream-like meditation on memory, food, painting, a fond uncle and the improbable beauty of Bologna, from the visionary thinker and art critic.'' This small book, apart from the coziness in grabbing the book, also provides a sense of wonder the way fonts are arranged - a short sentence, two paragraphs - in a page, with large voids. History gets mixed with personal feelings and experiences and that lead to a voyage though Bologna with its Italian cuisines. Review: okay - okay

A perfect book to drop into on a daily basis. Such a delicately moving little book. Everyone should keep a copy near them

I really loved this. It's not just a word painting of a city - although it is that. There is a lovely wistfulness about the work; pages broken up into short paragraphs, wandering backwards and forward, memory and expectation. We touch on food, architecture, history and red. The sense of lost uncles and chance meetings. Very much worth a purchase - if you can find a copy!

Libro carino, ma nulla di speciale, breve racconto dell'autore a Bologna, ogni pagina è una specie capito nuovo e quasi tutte le pagine sono scritte solo per metà

A charming pocket-size book that uncovers and distills the essence of Bologna. Perfect read for a short visit. Makes you look at the city differently.
