What more can I say for a textbook, really...
Arrived on time for my class. (If you need this book for a class, the class is probably going to make you miserable tbh.)

This is a great textbook which reads wonderfully and has a variety of informative maps and other graphics. It tapers out and only spends a single chapter on Hellenistic art, about which you can sense the author is not the biggest fan. Other than that, a great art history reference.

Does not withstand hot chocolate but otherwise has paper pages with printed words and a front cover, back cover, and spine--cover? functions well as a book but again, does not stand up well when hot chocolate is spilled on it.

Greek Art and Archaeology by Richard Neer
Book came on time. I had to get it for a class but I realize that it has a lot of good information and will do nicely as a introduction to Greek art and archaeology for beginners.

Not a "snoozer"
Used as a textbook for Ancient Greek Art. There's a heavy emphasis on pottery, as that's the author's specialty. The chapters are broken into style periods and there are case study chapters pertaining to that particular period following the general chapter. It's a well written book and not a "snoozer" the some art history books have a tendency to be.

Concise, Accurate and well organized.
I purchased this for a Greek Art and Architecture Course. I love the book because it captures all areas of "must haves": maps, timelines, terms, index, descriptions. It has lots of illustrations and is easy to follow, which is great because it is a LOT of details and times to follow. It covers the roots of the Greek world from Minoan to Mycenean to Greek colonies. Most noteable is how the author integrates events to art and architecture in a completely understandable way, while also explaining the archeological evidence that is sometimes merely a suggestion, and other times completely provable. Great book!
