Love this book!
Where to begin...? Well, put it this way: LOVE IT! I had no idea what this book would be like. When I opened the box and turned the pages I couldn't believe how incredibly detailed it was. I started the first page and have taken time every day to color at least an hour or two. My daughter immediately wanted to try it out. Needless to say I had to reorder this book for her and we ordered two of the other book with the Masterpieces. I truly hope that there will be a lot more books in the very near future! Can't wait! I'll be the first in line to order them! The pictures can be created using any type of pen, marker or brush. You don't have to be an accomplished artist to finish these. You can use your imagination! I am working on the Lincoln page. My daughter finished Janis Joplin and is now working on the others posted here. I am using black ink and my daughter is using color.

Stress Relieving
I had gotten into coloring, a couple of months ago. I use Markers, Colored Pencils, and Pencils. I absolutely love Spiroglyphics. It's Stress Relieving.

The pictures are fun to watch come to life
This is a large book, with high quality paper. I even use my sharpie markers on it's one sided pages and don't see bleed through. I use a card behind just in case, but so far have not had a speck of ink on it. The pictures are fun to watch come to life.

I am amazed by this book
I am amazed by this book. I was so excited when it came and I saw how big it was. I expected it to be a standard size coloring book, but it's much bigger. Big enough that the photos can (easily) be torn out and framed nicely. I had posted a photo of this book on Facebook when I got it because I was so excited about it and a ton of people messaged me and were interested in where they could purchase it. I love that you can use any 5 colors or shades which means you can really make these more original or match whatever decor you have if you decide to frame them. The back page has the photos of each person in the order they are in in the book. I found this very handy because you can't really tell who is in the photo until you start to color it. Sometimes I look in the back and choose a specific person, other times I just open it to any uncolored page and like to be surprised at which photo I'm coloring in.You choose colors 5 different colors or you can choose 5 shades of one color, basically any combination you would like as long as you choose colors that go from light to dark. Color number 5 is the darkest and color number 1 is the lightest. I've mostly been using colored pencils, which are okay, but I would definitely recommend marker (especially if you can afford to purchase a set of prismacolor markers) and you could even use paint/watercolor if you wanted as the photos are only on one side with the other side blank.

A must for the adult color-er in your life!
I absolutely love these books but I will mention that the pages of this book are larger than that of the masterpieces collection and it does not include the poster size version that the other book includes. Neither of these are a big deal to me but I wanted to mention it to potential future buyers. I hope they create more.

VERY best adult coloring book EVER
I have been coloring for over 30 years. I am so excited to see adult coloring taking off. I am constantly looking for amazing adult coloring books, but this is my absolute favorite of them all. To date, I have purchased and colored two of each of Thomas's Querkle books. I am very excited to see a new book will be released in June.

Super relaxing and fun to see the faces emerge
Just remember this isn't your "typical" coloring book...it's also big so don't expect to fit it into your backpack! Super relaxing and fun to see the faces emerge.

Fancy Faces
I bought this after thoroughly enjoying the Cat Querkles review copy I was sent. I've had lots of colouring books for grown ups, but this one is much more sophisticated. I attach photos of the masterpieces I have completed so far. I produced 2 this evening. If you zoom in, you can see that they're quite rough but give a clever realistic illusion when you step back. The paper is thick and great quality for using pen or pencil. I chose felt-tipped pens. The images work in tones, 1 is the darkest and 5 the lightest (the 5s are printed faintly so that they don't show through the colour). I used my Stabilo Pen 68 set of 40 colours (currently around £30 on Amazon, although I bought them as a deal). My pens are great for this because they are quite broad, but with a pointed tip, so they can fill areas quickly and smoothly and provide a range of tones. The introduction to the book suggests using tonal shading or crosshatching as an alternative to colouring.Looking at the unshaded sheet it is hard to tell the image. The "answers" are at the back of the book. There are 20 pictures in total. I enjoyed watching the famous people develop and reveal themselves.Be warned! They're addictive!

Thoroughly recommmended
This book is great fun! When you first open it and see the patterns you need to complete it looks a little daunting but sit for a while with coloured pencils or pens and all will become clear...I personally found it easier, though more time-consuming, to use colour; you need five colours, or shades of colours, graded from dark to light. I only had two types/thicknesses of marker pen to try with the cross-hatching technique recommended in the book so the image I did that way wasn't as neat or clear as the coloured pencil images I've done. That's just me, though, don't let it put you off!Showing my first image to people caused a nearly unanimous response: everybody bought this, or the other Querkles book based on famous paintings, either for themselves or family members. Some people said, 'Isn't it just painting-by-numbers?' which in a way it is and nothing wrong with that but the unique presentation of the patterns and style of the finished images puts it on another level entirely and makes it very satisfying to do.Recommended for those who enjoy any of the many varieties of colouring pastimes around at the moment (perhaps not very young children as there's an amount of detail and a lot of paper to cover); it's something different with an end result to be proud of.

Really enjoying!
For my first attempt - Jim Morrison - I had only water colour pencils. It turned out ok, but having used gel pens on subsequent pictures, I wish I could do it over. They can be very intensive (at least they were for me) as I try to follow the circles as accurately as possible. I found myself looking up and finding that hours had passed!I tend to use the same basic colours but change one or two depending on the subject. For example, I used red for Che Guevara (red for communism) instead of the purple I used for Audrey Hepburn. I'm considering using fluorescent colours for Jimi Hendrix (because of his connection to the psychodelia era).

Fantastic buy
Amazing. This is so calming and the end result is so satisfying! I'm going to be getting more as gifts! I wondered why they were more expensive than other colouring books. The design that goes into each picture must be very intensive, the books are A3 size and the paper is thick and smooth which prevents bleeding through to other circles and through to the other side. Very high quality and worth every penny! I love using the Mozart water colour brush pens to do these!

Very good
When you first look at each picture you can't see anything but circles and it is fun to colour in each numered segment and very satisfying to gradually find out what each picture is . Well worth buying if you haven't already done so .
