Doesn't last and doesn't work. (Four sensors - none good)
Great idea. Very motivational when it works.. That's the good news. The bad news. They aren't reliable and you may not be able to tell when they are spewing worthless/misleading readings.I bought this to track my progress at lowering blood glucose and learning about what spikes look like for me and wht causes them. I have a backup meter that I use that requires the finger-prick blood sample and I wanted a more continuous view.I had four of these devices.First one. Worked well for ten days. I periodically verified the reading with the hand-held meter and they agreed within normal parameters. But again, died on day 10.Second one. This came in a two-pack so I attempted to apply the second one. This one had a mechanical defect and would not apply.I wrote to Amazon and a replacement box was send about a week later.Third one. Worked well for 7 days and then just stopped. During that time the readings seemed to match my hand-held meter.Fourth one. I applied it and the readings were wrong from the beginning. I kept verifying, hoping that it would wake up but gave up 2 days later when it started giving such ridiculously low numbers that I contacted Stelo customer service. What a waste of time. I spent over 40 minutes giving details, after which they had me fill out forms to complain with the same data that I already gave them. Then I was informed that there would be a review process that would take days to determine if I was even eligible for replacements.I have an Android phone so I don't know how many other options I have but this is clearly not a solution.I highly recommend that you go someplace else until you stop seeing reviews like this!

Works great!
It’s a useful tool to track your blood sugars and compare them to your activities/eating habits to determine a cause and effect relationship between what you’re eating and its affects of your blood sugar. I ate a handful of M&Ms and sure enough my sugars went wild. No more of those. Is it as accurate as an actual blood test meter? Absolutely not. But it’s painless and interesting to see your trends. It’s easy to install and I hate needles. I have had no connection problems at all. I have flown with it without problems.I’m on my second sensor and my next box is arriving today according to Amazon. What would be nice if they packaged it with alcohol wipes. Why they can’t throw 2 of those in the box is beyond me. They specify cleaning your skin with an alcohol wipe prior to applying the sensor. I guess they assume you already have those.Overall I find it an interesting method to encourage better food choices.

High rate of sensor failure issues
Not good. The Stelo only lasted for 8 days when it says it will last for 15 days. I had 7 days remaining when it told me the session ended and start a new sensor. Dexcom does not have this technology perfected yet. Many times during the 8 days it was working I received a message “Brief Sensor Issue…wait 3 hours”. For the most part these issues fixed themselves until day 8. On day 8 I received this message and then after 1 hour it said….”session ended…start a new session with a new sensor”. Even though I had 7 days remaining on the current sensor. I wasted $100 on 2 sensors. I am not using the second sensor because of the high rate of issues with the first sensor. My Dr wants me to track blood sugar for 2 weeks ….before each meal and 1 hr and 2 hr after each meal. My Dr said this would be a good device to do this tracking but unfortunately it is not because of the sensor failure after one week. It worked for the first week but failed for the second week. I will be using the old reliable finger pricks and blood glucose monitor for the second week. Just one person’s opinion.

Life changing
This has truly been a game changer for me. As a 54 yo woman, I was finding it very hard to shed a few pounds. My doctor recommended Zepbound, since my A1C was on the higher side of normal, but I didn’t want to deal with side effects. I also knew I had to do something about glucose since I want to avoid Alzheimer’s -called diabetes type 3, and dementia. I got the Stello as a last resource before trying a GLP.The instructions are easy and setting everything up was a breeze, no pain or discomfort. I started watching how my normal diet affected my levels, and it was very eye opening. Every body is different, so I wanted to know what raised my glucose, other than sweets. After 2 weeks, I started avoiding the foods that I knew spiked my glucose, while slowly trying others- for example, beans and legumes are ok, bread is not. Still have much to learn, but I’ve lost 9 pounds without feeling hungry or angtsy. Still learning, but this makes me feel in control. It’s covered by my FSA. Really life changing for me!
