This book is a great starter. It’s way larger in size than I thought it would be, so everything is really easy to read and the pictures are clear.

The media could not be loaded. It's great for learning color theory and collecting if you don't want to read extremely small writing. The only reason it's one star down is that it has a lot of open space at the bottom of the illustrations and because it's bigger than a standard textbook (please read the dimensions). Because of this the information is stretched and kinda feels empty and spaced to feel "complete" on some pages. Also, very big imagery for examples in each section.

Wish it was longer but will check out

Meets the expectation of the know how to mix colors. Shows examples and it gives good tips on the most appropiate color combinations. It explains why is important to use a particular mix of colors to set a desired mood and how the temperature influence your setup. A must have to be a must in your pallete of literature.

This is THE most practical, informative and helpful book I’ve ever purchased. I recently began painting and have been in search of something like this. Many art books go into WAY too much detail right off the bat and go over the heads of a beginning artist like myself. It is very well written and beautifully illustrated.

I'm a beginner so it is great for me to get an understanding of colors & the color chart.

If you’ve ever needed a simple and clear explanation of color theory, than this book is for you. It’s definitely basic but it will explain “why” to choose colors and not just “how” to choose them.

A straightforward, easy to follow introduction to colour theory, with some good illustrations. As a beginner to art I found it really helpful.

It has given me opportunity to step forward in my painting with greater clarity and confidence. I can see that there is plenty more to learn and would love another book from this author on the types of brushstrokes especially. It is a beautifully illustrated book.

Great information to use and use

Short and concise, does enough of what's required. You won't learn how to paint through colour theory, it's values and drawing skills that will lay the foundation for that, so you just need to know enough colour theory to ensure things are tied together.
