If you want a phone that IS just a phone - & didn't cost a lot of pennies if you lost/dropped it, then this is TOPS. It is clean, very user friendly, has a very good signal capability, plus audio & font clarity & is also very robust. It's long-life battery will please you too. I would recommend this phone so much so, that when my present & aging old mobile phone gives up, THIS is where I am coming... the Nokia 1100.TIP: I also purchased a transparent, glove-fit, nylon/plastic cover for it through eBay. (Cost: £1.98 which includes delivery).The cover is highly durable, lets you access all features/plug points & doubles protection against impact from any knocks.THIS PHONE IS ALTOGETHER APPEALING & HIGHLY PRACTICAL.... ENJOY!

I dont' like toys on my phone, this only had the mandatory 2 games and an LED flashlight(actually quite useful, if not solar bright). Good simple design, menu layout very similar to the old 3210 etc, so I can see it attractng a good audience, one piece rubber keypad stops buttons getting stuck together. I work in a pretty harsh environment and although this phone has been dropped countless times (twice in a full drain!), the dust and EM leakage around here has done nothing to harm it. After it was dropped in the drain, the first time it didn't even switch off, and the second time I simple shook the water out and left it in a warm corner for the day - booted up fine.Very few covers available at the moment, some dealers couldn't even tell me handsfree compatability, but this is merely because its a new phone. cheap, sturdy.Overall, a brilliant, if basic phone.

A really easy use to phone. It makes calls and text messages. No frills. Just what I was looking for

After (annoyingly!) loosing my Nokia 6300 at the cinema, I purchased a Nokia 1100 to tide me over until I buy a new contract phone (I'm thinking the Motorola V3!)I'm using the phone on the 'Fresh' network, which is owned by carphone Warehouse and ran over the T-Mobile network. It also runs my Orange sim, so I assume it'll work on all other networks too? (Fresh only charge 15p/min to any network anytime and 5p per text!)The phone itself is wonderful! I charged it 7 days ago and as yet, its still showing a FULL charge! Although basic it does the job as well as it can - i.e. even though the ringtones aren't polyphonic, it does its best to compensate.I miss the calendar, multi name/address function and colour screen from my 6300 but other than that, the Nokia 1100 is great! Screen is clear, its small and light, feels very rugged, torch a cool feature and for the money its a steal! I love the look and the feel of the keypad and everyone thats seen it on my desk has stopped for a look.If this mobile had a colour screen, Bluetooth (it hasnt even got infrared) and menu system like my old phone (maybe even a camera!), I'd be happy to keep it against everything else available on the market today. It hasn't hence the reason why I only gave it 4 stars ... but I guess thats unfair as the phone is what it is - so I shouldnt mark it down for features it hasnt got.Summary: If you're not bothered about a colour screen, camera or Bluetooth, for the money you cant really go wrong!

This is the best phone I have owned in years. I just bought a Motorola V3 (as I am a gadget man) and have dumped this in favour of the Nokia 1100. It is a back to basics phone, calls and text is all it will do. But what a refreshing change to have a slim phone with changeable covers that does this and does this well.Going back to a LCD screen is fabulous, great clear, simple and oh yes, you can read it out of doors, not like most colour screens. Best of all if the reception and battery life. I get more bars on this phone than on any other I owned. Battery life, it seems to go on and on.I have just ordered another one from Virgin because I fear the days of LCD screens might end soon and I don't want to be forced to go back to overly complicated phones again. I am a gadget man who normally likes all of the bells and whistles, however the Nokia 1100 has changed me, get back to basics and do it well. Thank you Nokia and thank you Virgin, only £29.99 including £15 of airtime.

This is my third or fourth phone and I love it. As an entry level phone it is just perfect. It doesn't come with those features gadget freaks love, like 65k color screen, polyphonic/mp3 ring tones, digital camera, mp3 player, 3D games, wap, e-mail, pda-like organizer, etc., etc., etc. No, it is mobile phone and it excels at that. Great battery life and easy to use too. Top that with a flashlight, calculator, alarm, profiles, and some other basic but neat features, and you got the right phone for the job. It even comes with two easy games (with force feedback!) for those times you are waiting for the wife outside the mall. The only con I can find is the lack of multiple phone numbers per contact, but as a whole I am very happy with my Nokia 1100.

When my old 3310 started to develop faults i thought it time for a new phone. Saw this and it was just what i was after, simple to use and a great price. Ok so there's no camera or anything flash about it but if your after soemthing for just texting a ringing this phone is fantastic. The flashlight is a handy feature, sure it will come in useful.Also big plus to amazon on delviery. Thought i'd be lucky to get it by Xmas after ordering on the 17th but it arrived on the 22nd.

If you just want to make calls and write SMS and need an easy to use great quality phone - then this Nokia 1100 is the one.I am VERY satisfied with it. Buttons work well and make SMSing easy, they are not too small and have a good pressure point. Menu is easy and clear, as usual for Nokia.I also like the built in flashlight and the good vibrating alert.All in all a fine phone with a good battery life.No gimmicks which you never use anyway...
