Review without Spoilers - Pros & Cons
Still Open All Hours (2013-2019) is a British sitcom created for the BBC by Roy Clarke, starring David Jason & James Baxter, which ran for 41 episodes across six series. It is the sequel to the sitcom Open All Hours, which both Clarke and Jason worked on throughout its 26-episode run from 1973 to 1985. Here are the pros & cons as I see it, I hope this helps you.Pros:1. Good British humour2. Very good acting overall3. My favourite character is Gastric played by Tim Healy; I am always prepared to laugh when he appears4. Subtitles are an available choice if you like or need themCons:1. Series 3 is a bit of a letdown, as they lack the level of humour and level of writing that were in Series 1 & 2 which I gave 5 stars to2. Even though it is not a problem for me, make sure you are buying DVDs that will work with your region of player or buy an all-regions player

A fun show
I didn't grow up with Open All Hours (I was four when the original series finished), but I got a chance to watch them recently, and I really enjoyed them. That led to me trying this series. I enjoy the humor and the playfulness of the show. The overall pattern of each episode is rather predictable, but it is pleasant familiarity that makes it a fun, welcoming show.

Not a patch on the original
While it has the odd moment, it's nowhere close to the original series.

Better than I expected.
Better than I expected. "Open All Hours" with Ronnie Barker is a tough act to follow, but this is doing as well !! Complete with Arkwright's vicious, finger biting till and some of the old cliches plus new material too. 8.5/10.

Good one for the DVD shelf .... but
Excellent British Production stacked with stalwart well-loved Actors. I feel the repetitive themes become boring - could do with a new set of dynamic writers to exploit the potentials of what is a very, very accomplished cast.
