Inconspicuous, seems reliable so far.
Previously had the 5.0 version and was happy with it for a little less than a year. It definitely seemed to degrade over time, more frequently losing connection with even the slightest bump. Also, even though slimmer than most competitors, was still something that required a little bit of thought to hide (if important to you). This new model is faster to connect and so far much more reliable. We will see if it holds up over time, but the price is reasonable and it is less conspicuous than anything on the market. It doesn’t seem to heat up to any level that is concerning, overall a great product. My only critique – for such a slimline stealth product, why not have a cooler splash/startup screen? Super easy fix to give that extra little bit of high end feel.

Just works. Needs some workaround
Using in a Subaru Forester 2021. I tried many times to make it work, and finally did it. With the WiFi interface I added 5 seconds delay, disabled GPS, and changed the WiFi band to 149. After this, it works almost perfect. Better, faster, and more reliable than USB cable. Avoid using it with more than one phone, it can go crazy sometimes.

Unreliable, unpredictable behavior but works great when it works
Bought for my 2018 Honda Goldwing upon recommendation of CRUISEMAN. I already had the older style Carlink, but I thought I would upgrade. On a recent 5,000 mile trip to the Northern Cascades and down the Pacific Coast Highway, it was just unreliable. Despite several reinstalls where I would “forget” the device, and then reinstall, I never could get it to work reliably. At first I thought it was going to be great because the initial install and firmware update worked without a hitch. Sometimes it worked perfectly. Most of the time it would require me to unlock my phone when starting the bike, the iPhone which I kept in the trunk. So I would pull over, get off my motorcycle, open the trunk and unlock my iPhone; other times after a fuel up or meal break, it did not require me to unlock my phone and fired right up, until it didn’t. I experienced multiple occasions where the map would freeze on the screen (voice instructions still worked) but the Apple CarPlay would freeze and show a turn in 27 miles, and stay there all the way to the turn. After the turn, I pulled it out of the USB port to reboot it but it wanted me to unlock my iPhone again. So, pull over, get off bike, open trunk and unlock iPhone… Another strange thing was when I would receive a call, I would hit the answer button. I could see on screen it would allow me to depress the answer button but nothing happened. This same thing happened with text messages, allowing me to depress the text message but nothing happened… sometimes receiving calls and texts worked perfectly fine, but sometimes it would not allow me to answer text messages or phone calls, even though it appeared to let me depress the buttons. Like I say, after multiple attempts to uninstall (forget) and reinstall with the same unpredictable results, I gave up and went back to my older Carlink that Cruiseman originally recommended. It worked flawlessly and has ever since. I have an Apple iPhone 14 Pro. Well, I only lost $30 but the older model works great. It allows me to keep my phone in the trunk so can l can ride through 112 degree weather and not overheat my iPhone while charging and using navigation. As for this new “mini”, it was too unreliable and unpredictable to use. Sometimes it works great, and other times it froze or partially froze with the most common annoyance being it required me to unlock my iPhone before it would work. But even then, once my phone was unlocked, I still had to deal with freezing up or inconsistent functionality. After using it for about 2,000 miles, I can’t recommend this product.

Overheats and fails - over and over again
The size of this is great, the performance is not. During an hour-long drive, I probably lost connection 5 or 6 times. The problem may be thermal. It gets quite hot even though it is surrounded by open air in the cup-holder area. Unplugging it and letting it cool for a minute resolves the issue and it begins to work again. Very quick connection, but I’m not going to drive down the road unplugging and replugging the device. It’s going back.

A few downsides make this product miss the mark.
Update: Works great nowThere's a slight delay in changing songs on Spotify. Also, when watching YouTube on my phone, there's a delay between the video and sound. It's annoying when there's a human talking and their voice doesn't match with their mouth. All the other features you'd expect out of Apple CarPlay work well. The form factor is nice as well, but I'm concerned with how long the device will last as there's no airflow and unsure of how it'll do on very long drives where it's constantly running.

Great product at reasonable cost
Worked perfectly and seamlessly linking CarPlay via Bluetooth in a 2021 Mercedes GLC 300. How the car should have come from the factory.

This item works as described in my Hyundai Kona electric .The only thing that has me concerned is it seems to run hot.Other than that it connects easily and runs android auto and so far has had no issues.

2019 Ram 1500
The media could not be loaded. Honestly better than expected, super small and sleek. Comes with usb-C adapter if needed.i scanned the QR code on the back for instructions but didn’t even need i. I connected it to my 2019 ram 1500 rebel and a screen popped up with directions, I connected to its Bluetooth once and now when I turn on my truck, CarPlay comes on before the screen even comes on. It’s godly quick and so small. 10/10 would recommend
