Like a ride on a hobby-horse
The topic is a serious one and there is some detailed and peer-reviewed science to back up code claims. For instance, in my opinion, R. Edwin Sherman's book, Bible Code Bombshell (also available on Amazon), presents a more scientifically persuasive argument with a great deal less melodrama. On the other hand, I came away from reading Bible Code III with the feeling that the author was his own worst enemy -- and for a variety of reasons: first of all, his repetitive claims that the code is real are diminished by his equally repetitive assertions that he does not believe in God. This seems disingenuous to say the least, as well as illogical. If the code is real, then who else encrypted the Bible 3000 years ago, if not God? Are we to conclude that it was someone from Planet X, perhaps? His secularism is his right, of course, but does he not realize that if even he is not persuaded by the existence of a divinely-inspired code, he has little chance of persuading others of its significance? He emphasizes that he does, however, believe in the code itself and its statistically-incalculable accuracy for prophetic warnings, but it is as if he sees the code as existing solely in a vacuum. That simply weakens the argument. Secondly, Drosnin presents his evidence with little detail of the science involved in decoding the messages, and too little reference to the statistical probabilities of the codes existing by chance. We are presented with a number of illustrations of Biblical text in Hebrew with the apparent messages picked out for us -- but as they are in Biblical Hebrew, there aren't many of us who can assess the accuracy of the information. As such, the author seems to expects us to take his findings pretty much on faith -- ironic, that. Third, Drosnin portrays himself, secularist though he is, as the proverbial "voice crying in the wilderness." He says he possesses the information that can save us all from nuclear annihilation. He can change the destiny of the world, if only those in power would heed his warnings and rely on the code. Oh dear. Need I say more about that problem? No, I thought not. That leads us to the fourth issue, which is that his warnings are clothed in a definite political wrapping. That is unfortunate, as it only alienates those who are not of a liberal political bent. Had the arguments been more dispassionate, showed more of the science and probabilities involved in breaking the code, and been less of a personal and political hobby horse, I feel the author would have had a much better chance of convincing his audience.

Divine Providence
Computers have the capacity to unlock much information, and obviously The Bible Code could never have been unlocked successfully without them. Seeing that Hebrew letters have numerical value, I am simply not surprised that there is indeed a hidden Bible code. Because Hebrew text has been the least corrupted of all holy scripture, I do not find it incredulous that the Hebrew scriptures are encoded with warnings, even prophecies that have come to pass. I think that this code was kept preserved until this time in history to help mankind. There will always be someone who will profit, but it does not diminish the relevance of the information presented. This book sounds a warning, and for people who might otherwise not be seekers of spiritual wisdom, or just go about their daily lives unawares, this book just might startle them into really considering how they go about their daily lives, how they treat their fellow man, how they consider "the least" among them, and who they hold in "high esteem", and who they sneer & mock.I guess I believe in divine providence, and I do believe God allowed Barack Obama to be President of the United States for these days and these times. But, I also believe that people can be so blinded by their prejudices that they can automatically discount the information received, and they reject it out of hand to their own peril. That said, before this book ever came out, I lifted President Obama and his family up in prayer daily, for their health, safety, and God's guidance in President Obama's decision-making. We are on the brink of worldly chaos, and I certainly trust that God having already declared the end from the beginning, is guiding President Obama's hand and heart.Maybe after reading this book, it will provoke people in this country to bind themselves in such a spirit of unity and love, that whatever might befall us, we stand behind the person we elected in 2008 to guide us through it with God's grace, mercy and always keep whoever sits in the Office of President of the United States in constant prayer.

My first confusion and leave from realty
So not being religious, my vocation is computer maths with statistical analysis, so I can say that from that background this is the first theory I am finding difficult to debunk or point out the hole in it. I researched and tested some of the sceptical views and theories and they all fall short. For me it's truly hard to believe it's real, but I have no conclusive proof it's not and the book provides evidence that it can find phrases and connect the dot to past events. They cannot predict or it be useful in showing what's coming as we don't know what to ask about. Unlike Nostrodumus who half interpreted the bible into some of his quatrains and the rest is made to fit an event by modern gurus, this Bible Code is different in that it doesn't predict more than confirm an event that has occurred. To be able to read the code in it's entirety one would need some key or perhaps a decipher code that will allow one to read a coming event. truly a mystery for me.I would not put my house on this, I'm 50/50 and not convinced, but mathematically Equidistant Letter Sequences is impossible to be so accurate in how many hists it gets.To the debunkers, the War and Peace scenario was improperly conducted or did not adhere to the "rules" that data is based on in the Bible. There are many with flimsy words and no facts saying any book can do this, not true but statistically every book will give a word or connecting words, but nowhere a percentage or connections at per the Bible code, in fact the statics with the Bible is above the average for it being chance, way above!

Bible Code III
Bible Code I was quite expansive, wide ranging and most detailed. Bible Code II was more restricted, yet detailed enough to support easily all statements. In contrast, Bible Code III is very restricted in its subject matter, rather singular, and, in order to justify a book sized commentary, extremely repetitive. In fact, reading the Notes at the end of the book, is an excellent summary of the entire book, even though this too is repetitive in places. Essentially this book focuses on the stuartship of President B. Obama, 2008 - 2010, and it's potential course over 2012/13, ignoring all the previous events, also described for this period of 2012/13 in Bible Code I, yet world events are not that much isolated as in this book. Omitting the redundant elements (repetitions), this book could have been greatly enhanced by a wider perspective. Unless,of course, the author is now working on a more detailed volume for the period 2013 - 2015?

Expectations not met
I'm sorry, but this book is basically a summary of world events that were supposedly predicted in the Bible, but the book offers no scientific evidence of this whatsoever. It includes predictions that ultimately didn't come true, but that doesn't seem to matter to the author. I expected much more from this.

Interesting Read.
I bought this book after reading Bible Code one and Two.An interesting read, although critics say you can find a skip code in any book.
