So being around the house doing countless projects I have never bought a pair of these. I've told myself to buy them a hundred times and always improvised instead. Turns out a hundred times I've made a bad mistake by improvising because you always end up with Ripples and warped excetera in your sheet metal what you could have easily been avoided by buying a pair of these pliers. They work absolutely terrific. I will definitely buy another pair or two and maybe even get a wider set if I can find them. I definitely recommend anybody who works around their garage pick a set of two of these at it's more than worth it in the long run and the quality of the product you will turn out in the end.The good:1. Had my doubts this would hold up under what i could squeeze into it. For the price, i expected it to fail. I was wrong. This is every bit as sturdy as <pick your brand>, and thus a great deal even if the casting isn't perfect.

Been using these to pull carpet glued to concrete. Wish they had some texture to the faces but I understand why a tool like this doesn't

Wish it had some grooves on the plier jaws for grip but other than that it appears to be a great gripping tool over a large flat surface.

Overall these are a great set of locking pliers especially if you're in the sheet metal trade, or hvac installers, I just wish I'd bought a pair of pliers that didn't lock but if you wanna use these for other stuff like holding together a strap to hold some flex duct or rigid, then these are a good option, good bang for the buck.

I work in the HVAC industry and this guy comes in handy when I need to field bend thicker metal. No problems out of the box everything arrived in good condition and it works just fine for me.
