Overpriced, but not-bad pamphlet for beginner
If you've never made a quilt before, this might be a good starter "book" (it's actually a 50-page saddle-stapled pamphlet). It holds your hand through piecing each of the pictured quilts. It even picks your fabrics for you. There is a brief section on piecing basics, with folding and cutting instructions, how/why to match edges neatly, the importance of accurate seam allowance (actually consistent is more important than accurate, but never mind), etc....The one thing I noticed that isn't even touched on is how to connect strips end-to-end, so I imagine many readers making a straight seam instead of diagonal and then wondering why it ends up visually jarring and sometimes lumpy in the quilt. She does mention the problems of working with cross-grain strips, and sewing bias edges; and there's a full page with clear graphics on how to bind with mitered corners. Although she does touch on the quilting itself, you'll very likely need another book for that. (That or a long-arm quilter.)But as to the individual quilts...There's not a new idea or pattern or trick or tip in here. If you have ANY other quilt book, you very likely have all the information in this book, and more. There are only eight block patterns, ranging from a traditional log cabin and a strip-pieced version of the "Waste Not" block to a somewhat modern pattern of varying-length boxes.(Incidentally there isn't any confusion about the directions "continuing" anywhere: when you find a quilt you want to try, just flip immediately to the "continued" page. The directions start over again from the beginning, so you don't need to refer back to the color picture page.)Really, the only thing about this book that sets it apart is that she has preselected the jellyrolls and tells you exactly which to buy to duplicate her quilts. If you want to precisely duplicate a pictured quilt you like (which is not necessarily a bad place for a beginner to start), this could be the book for you.But if you're looking for new ideas for how to use the jelly rolls of your choice, they aren't in here. If you're looking for new quilt block variations or combinations, they aren't in here. If you're looking for color inspiration, it's probably not in here (I'd suggest any book by Kaffe Fassett). There's nothing here but clear and careful instructions on how to duplicate exactly these quilts. If that's what you want, this is probably worth the price. But do not buy this book if you're looking for anything more than that.

Easy to Follow Instructions
The patterns were well explained and easy to follow. I made the Star quilt. It looked difficult but was a dream to sew.

Good pattern book for Jelly Rolls
I have several "roll books", and this is my favorite. I like this one because the only fabric needed for the quilt front comes from a jelly roll. You do not need charm packs. You do not need fat quarters of a background color. All you need are jelly rolls. The author does give alternate fabric buying guidelines for people who do not want to use jelly rolls. The author suggests a particular jelly roll (e.g. Moda "Sanctuary" by 3 Sisters). About half of the patterns use bright and happy colors, and the other half of the patterns use more masculine colors. There are a variety of designs that are pleasing to the eye.The quilts are simple and quick to put together. Overall this is a good book for jelly rolls.

Small number of projects in the book
I was excited to get this book because the preview showed really colorful cute quilts. I also liked the idea that the only supplies I need for the top are the jellyroll fabrics. However, when I got the book, there were only a few projects in the entire book. Someone commented that this was an "overpriced, but not-bad pamphlet". This is so true. Since the price was only 11 dollars or so, I can live with the small number of projects in the book. It is still cheaper than buying separate patterns. However, if you want a more substantial projects guide using jellyrolls, you may get disappointed.

Not as expected
I agree with a previous reviewer that the layout is confusing, with pictures at either end of the book and the instructions in the middle. Also I purchased this book because another reviewer said all it needed was a jelly roll, not any other extra fabric but the very first project suggests you "purchase one yard of dark blue marbled fabric for horizontal stripes and inner border". There is of course the more obvious need to purchase extra material for wadding, backing and binding but I thought the quilt tops were just about jelly rolls. Somehow, naively, I thought I would need only one jelly roll but most of these quilts need two! That makes it a very expensive quilt top unless you can scale down and make tiny ones out of one jelly roll, somehow. I'm a bit disappointed and not sure I will be able to make any of these. However, there is a sampler quilt here which gives a series of different blocks and could be made with six blocks instead of twelve. It comes with a rather nice sampler pillow, too.
