Does not come with play time
I liked the little discount for the weekend special. I was used to buying other expansions that included a 30 game time card, this did not. However I was prompted to spend gold I had build up and saved, previously playing the game, and it cost me 117000 gold deducted from my combined characters on my old main server. Big download, so I had to wait to play it until the next morning. Gameplay is different, I was used to the old talent point system, alas I had 10 lvl 100 characters, max level garrisons and shipyard. I did the only thing thinkable without having to take time to vendor unusable items that I thought had meaning. Created the new class. Tutorial started at 98, to get you to 100 with a slow intro back into the game. Auction house prices are pretty high with how long this game has been around. I hope to play more soon, but not like the hardcore grind years past. All I know is I am spending remaining gold saved on biggest affordable bags, and whatever flight trainings to keep me moving fast. Game looks good, no lag, I already enjoy the storyline again.

Boring and unfamiliar since WotLK.
I tried to like this expac. I didn't believe all of the negative reviews. I dont know where the direction WoW is going but it's not a direction I'm enjoying. They could have made the new races unlockable through an epic optional questline. Nah, they just went the super lazy route of making them a grindfest.

Easy install, fun so far.
I was playing the earlier version of WoW (Legion) so did not need to download the software. I just entered the new game code # on battle.net and was off and running. So far (after a week), the game play has been fun. New character models, cool looking city, and decent quest lines.

The Usual
I have been playing World of Warcraft since I was a beta tester back in 2005. I am really tired of having to pay so much money for an expansion ($50 for digital download) PLUS $15 per month.Guild Wars 2 is a fabulous game that I highly recommend. Recently, they have been consistently updating the game at no charge and there is no monthly fee. Honestly, World of Warcraft is easier to play than GW2, but GW2 is still a very fun and engaging game.In my opinion, this expansion was not worth $50 when it's as old as it is. Blizzard is coming out with another expansion in the near future (Shadowlands) and I'm sure that will be $60-$65. Blizzard has a cash cow in WoW.

meh
Synopsis: Warlords of Draenor all over again. Nothing more. Nothing less.Details:To give you a scale you can relate to, I rate the previous WoW expansia as follows on a 1-10 scale (1-worst, 10-best):Legion - 9Lich King - 7Burning Crusade - 6Warlords - 5Pandaria - 3Cataclysm - 2Legion was AWESOME. I loved the Garrisons. I loved Ashran. The quest lines were great.Cataclysm was HORRIBLE. They stole content I paid for previously away from me (Stormwind, Loch Modan, Stranglethorn, etc, etc, etc).Given this scale, I give BfA a 5. Basically more of the same as WoD. In fact I really cant tell them apart and get confused where one ends and the other begins. Lots of vignettes that you sit and watch (or skip) or at best run thru scripted. Battle tables (garrison light- light- light-).And thats a problem for me.Blizzard sent me a "hey come back for a week free" thing. I found out that they no longer charge for expansions other than the last one. So I thought, sure I'll give it a shot. So I bought BfA.And they have done a really weird thing that throws it all in the trash:Formerly, when you visited a new zone, you would be very careful, tiptoeing around, cause everything was higher level than you. But as you dinged (leveled up), you would get more powerful relative to the locals. So you would feel more confident and capable. Dinging came to represent more HP, more Mana, better hit ratio, more crits, more talent points. you felt REALLY good when you dinged, like you had accomplished something. Almost tangible. You would think "now I can go back and take that mob/group that ganked me". And then when you had done all the quests, you would move to another zone and do it again. Fun!BUT NOW, all the mobs except for the odd rare or boss in a zone are always the same level as you. Every combat is exactly the same. Aggro a bad guy, he runs at you, you go through your standard spell rotation; hit 3, then 1, then 3, then 7, then 3, then 4, then 3, then 3. Then you loot the corpse. It doesnt matter what you are fighting, every combat becomes EXACTLY the same. Boring. Pointless. Meaningless. And then when you complete a level and ding? Every one of your 30,000 enemies dings at the same time and combat stays exactly the same! You gain NOTHING from leveling. It goes from exhilarating to depressing. Why even have different mobs if they will be exactly the same? The could all just be a white blob. Heck, why even have the monitor on, just blank the screen and type 3-1-3-7-3-4-3-3. You could run it on a 70's programmable calculator. Start program, type "31373433" and look at the display for what random percentage of health you have left. Repeat. Again. Again. Again. And if you decide you need to go back to an early zone to get low level minerals or herbs? Instead of meekly wandering around ignoring you to gather in peace, now the local mobs are the same as you again and aggro on you. So you have to fight your way in and out. Same spell rotation, over and over and over. 31373433. 31373433. 31373433. 31373433. 31373433. 31373433. Every combat the same. Over and over again. Never ending. No change. Mind numbing. No challenge. Now, this isnt necessarily the fault of BfA per se; but it IS the environment you will play in if you get the expansion. So the experience is inseparable from the expansion. Not for me.

Don't waste your money!
Don't waste your money, it's so boring and repeditive... There's nothing new to do... Just a map to see but there's nothing to do on the map though...
