Working for MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012 model
I have ordered this Cable for My MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012 model. I received it in 3 days.About item and Packing: As I opened, it has two screw drivers along with Cable. But the Cables' important part which should be sticky to the side structure is not proper. It's glue was gone. Also the side structure finishing is not as good.About Working: Now I replaced it in my laptop, as I need my laptop to work on. The laptop started normally. Hope it will work for longer time.About Cost: The same kind of cable is also available with lesser price and higher price also. Don't know the exact price. But it looks bit overpriced.I will update this review if I come across anything related to this cable.Thank you.

Wastage of time and money.
The quality was very poor and it was not designed to fit into MacBook. Before using this sensor, at least Mac was detecting Hard drive but after replacing it with this sensor it stopped once for all. Don't buy it from Amazon because even they're taking ages to refund it and eventually you'll realize that it'll be wastage of money as well as your time. Better take your device to authentic repair shop like I did.

Ruined my laptop
1 week later, my laptop is an absolute brick, doesn't even power on. Buy with caution. It's just a lifeless antique now.

Easy and works perfectly
The product works just like it is expected to. The IR sensor cable was a little misplaced but nothing fatal. Fixed it in position. Really good value for money. And the toolkit is really helpful.

High quality cable and the bracket makes installation easier!
I normally don’t write product reviews, but I am hoping this will help someone out there! I was hesitant to buy this, but I had nothing to fear! I decided to upgrade the HDD to an SSD on my trusted 2012 MacBook Pro. Little did I know that my SATA cable was already toast, and even though it was working with the HDD, it could not cope with the SSD. Hours of reformatting, cloning and uncloning, resetting PRAM etc did not help. What helped was this SATA cable! Very easy to install, and the bracket makes you by pass the most fiddly bit of installation. I was also impressed by the quality of the tool that were included! The screwdriver is definitely high quality. Just follow the instructions on You tube, put some insulating tape on the metal body to make the cable last longer. It’s early days, but I am happy. Hopefully the cable is of high enough quality and it lasts a long time. Go for it!

Life Saver for MacBook Pro 2012
My daughters MacBook Pro 2012 suddenly stopped working with the folder symbol with Question Mark. Fearing a hard drive failure we checked that, but it was working, and the internet suggested this cable might be to blame. Taking care it is relatively easy. it comes with all the tools needed and good instructions can be found on line. Take care to order the right cable and and which screw goes where as there are two different sizes in the base of the MacBook.15 minutes work saw the machine restored to full working order, and the Macbook lives on.

Perfect fix for MacBook that will boot from HDD but doesn't recognise SSD
I bought a secondhand MacBook Pro 2012 13" to replace my recently dead 2011. It was good deal but needed an SSD and a RAM upgrade to bring it up to speed. RAM installed I set about trying to install a new SSD. The SSD would format fine in an external caddy but every time installed it into my new MacBook and I tried to install Mac OS via a bootable USB stick, the MacBook would either not recognise the SSD or if I did manage to get it to be recognised , the install either failed or the one time I did get it to install, it wouldn't start and instead gave 'flashing folder' (is not found) errors. The weird thing was that every time I put the original mechanical HDD back in, the MacBook would start fine. After much confusion, frustration and googling, I fould that a lot of other people had similar problems with 2012 MacBooks. Seems the SATA cable that connects the drive to the logic board can fail over time or even if it works with a HDD, is unable to deal with the increased throughput from a faster SSD.So with nothing to loose, I bought this kit. After a 10 minute install, I was up and running, SSD recognised and was installing Mac OS.Install successful and new MacBook living up to its fully potential. Man it's amazing how slow a mechanical drive is once you're used to SSD!! So glad to get this sorted. Great life saving, reasonably priced bit of kit!

Too easy!
Bought this following a failure of my 2012 Macbook Pro following an upgrade to an SSD and extensive research on line. Initially, my Mac was faster following the SSD but failed catastrophically after a week. Like previous reviewers I tried various reboots and resets with little improvement. Found a video on Youtube showing how to replace the SATA cable and bought this for £12 not expecting much but it seemed a small price to pay if I could save myself £1000 on a new machine. What a revelation, easy to fit with all the tools included and now a Mac which is faster than when I first bought it. I would highly recommend this piece of kit and I hope it works for you.

£12 to fix a major issue was awesome
Both myself and my wife use Apple Macbook Pro machines that are now 6 years old. We took my wife's machine to Apple recently due to a crashing issue. We were told by the Apple genius that her 13" MBP had a recall notice issued quite some time ago where these cables had developed a fault. So the Apple guy advised us of this exact part from this exact seller to see if it fixed the issue before we went down the road of spending a large amount of money. The part came the next day and as an IT engineer I didn't find it hard to fit at all but someone who isn't comfortable opening a MBP and removing screws might want to watch some videos first or ask for help from a suitable friend. The part came with all the tools needed to do the job and it did indeed fix the problem. I'm so happy that this £12 part did exactly what it was supposed to. The MBP is now back working in the exact same way it was when it was bought.I'd more than highly recommend this seller and I'm a very happy bunny because of them.
