I installed this kit into my car and used it for over three years until I sold the car. I purchased the rear camera separately and connected it to this system. Installation was super easy (thanks to a great YouTube video by someone kind enough to document all the steps) and I was very impressed with the overall package. You can get higher resolution cameras now, but this one is OK for most scenarios. Hard to read number plates unless you are right up close, but it does the job and is good value.

This is my first dash cam so unable to compare to anything else but as a first time dash cam owner im very impressed. This cam has all you need to stay protected on the road HD recording, GPS, parking mode and loop recording all to name a few. I chose to hardwire the unit into my fuse box and behind the dash which for a true novice took me 10 minutes to do, you can still have it fully working with the 12v charger but I like my car gadgets so keeping the cig lighter free is a bonus. The unit comes with all the instructions/equipment to get started and it even has a little carry case to help protect it when you take it out of the car (if you do).All in all this dash cam does what it says it will with no hassle, it's robust with a nice slick design and is practically unnoticeable on the dash or windshield once you get used to it (took me a day or two). For the price you definitely won't be disappointed. Enjoy 😁

Bought this to go in my Mercedes E220 and went for the kit with the hard wire included. Having received the kit through very prompt delivery, I am very pleased with the camera and ease of use. However, to hard wire it in to my model of car it means quite a bit of work and the fuse box is not in a close convenient location to make me even want to undertake the job, so I have been using the cigarette lighter connection to make it work, which was very easy to install and seems to be working well. Of course the one down side is that every now and then I have to take the camera out and charge it indoors, but I think I can live with this. My advise to anyone considering purchase, 1st buy the camera, try it out and then decide if you want or need the hard wire kit. That way you can make an informed decision based on your own make and model of car.

I'd been meaning to buy a dashcam for over a year, and finally bit the bullet by buying the 312gw a month ago.I tested it with the cigarette lighter-compatible cable, then had a local audio fitter hardwire it in once I was happy and confident.So far it's been a great little camera, it's never failed to record and the picture quality is perfect. It picks up reg numbers from a good distance away, still picks up enough at night and it's easy enough to navigate through the menus to reply footage and format the SD card.The hard wire kit is particularly smart, and gives you the option to power the camera constantly, or only when the car is turned on. It also has a cut-out function if it detects it's drawing too much power from the battery. I've had no trouble with this the whole time it's been hard wired, and it's good to know it's still able to capture clips if someone hits my car whilst its parked up.I only have a few small complaints:- The battery life when unclipped from the powered mount is very poor. The manual claims it can get a vastly inflated time, where in reality it seems to be about 30 seconds to a minute. This isn't surprising, as the battery is likely tiny to fit in such a small camera and spends most of its life plugged in.- The mount, whilst compact and easy to stick behind a rear-view mirror, is a little too small. The suction cup doesn't hold up well on particularly cold mornings, where I've come to my car to find it all hanging by the cable.Overall, I recommend this if you're looking for a great mid-range camera for a decent price.

The 412GW is a top quality dash cam.Night vision is excellent and the overall field of vision is very wide. Nice and small so it sits neatly on the window.I opted for the hardwire kit and it was simple to fit. Took around 30mins. The vehicle was a Kia Sportage that have mini fuses and the piggy back fuse adapter supplied with the kit was slightly too large but some trimming at the edges made this slot in to the fuse box snugly.Now it's a case of fit and forget :)Parking mode on the camera is very sensitive and will record/lock in files very easily. This will fill up the SD card fairly quickly so remember to format every few weeks.

I had this dash cam nstalled by an auto electrical engineer as I didnt feel competent. It took 40 minutes to hardwire into the cars electrics. It was also very easy for me to connect to the cars wifi system. Not sure how much power it uses, when the engine is off, as it remains on for added parked protection, but when I put the car in the garage at night, I turn the camera off, and then back on when taking the car out. Good piece of kit well worth the money. Also an added insurance if an incident happens when driving. Images download to phone ipad, android device etc

This is the second of these dash cams purchased and they keep the driver safe while keeping them honest. As it can clear or implicate the driver! Fitted easily with the fitting kit and both are permanently wired and switch on. Pleased with the purchase

I use it daily for my car. Its workin continously while i am driving. Its my 3-rd camera i buy ( one for each car) and i have recommended to others aswell. Had only one slight problem when a high speed guy passed me and touched my mirror and messed it. I could not see his nr plate because of the speed he was going like 100 mph (me 50 mph) and it was night. But beside that works very fine for the price you pay. If you change some settings in the menu you even have a very nice video in the night. Clear enough and not blurred by other lights. I deffinetly recommend it.
