ATD Tools5479 4-in-1 Tubing Bender

In the past, and I suppose it applies to this tool too, ATD tools provide a decent tool for the money.To be honest I did return this tool, not because of the tool itself, but because I need a brake line bending tool with a tighter bend radius.

Works differently than any of the other benders. I am happy with the tool, and it does something other more standard tools cannot: It makes a bend with the handles at 90 degrees from the line being altered. Pretty much all of the tools I have used in the past require that the line be parallel with the tool handles.The only real drawback here is that a significant length of tubing for each bend is required away from the center of the curve. There is no way I could see to use the tool very close to an end. And, it is kind of big/overkill for forming brake lines. A smaller, single groove tool might be better for such a specialized use as car brake lines.

This tool may come in handy on tubing up to 5/16" steel. You need to be the Incredible Hulk to bend 3/8" steel. I am not a weak guy and it was very hard to bend that size at all.The parts that look like rollers are only held on with c-clips that aren't even clipped into grooves so the do not stay in alignment and twist out of their holes.If I had it to do again I would not buy these.

This bender isn't perfect and certainly shouldn't be considered as your only bender, but it will allow tweaking of an installed line in certain cases and is a welcome addition to my tool collection. It really should have longer handles for 3/8 tubing and the spacing of the idler rollers is only a compromise at best; it really should be considered a tweaking tool rather than a bending tool.

The tool works ok, but the 2 side tube holders come off easily because the c clip design holding them on is poor.

Works well, with a unique compact design. Wish it could get a little closer against an adjacent surface, but overall it's still a handy tool.

Does a great jobs on 3/16 & 1/4 steel brake lines but handles are to short for anything larger.

Great construction but not yet tested in practice.
