This went where the other PMP books needed to go!
Let's face it, the majority of PMP books are heavy on the theory and light when it comes to practical technical skills like earned value management. I take my PMP test on Monday, 29 April, 2019, and have been going nuts worrying about how I'd perform on the EVM questions. Keep in mind that I hold an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA -- both of which were heavy with accounting. I see these questions as easy points on the test so long as I understand the why AND the how of the questions.Having read Andy Crowe's most recent PMP book, Rita's 9th edition for the PMP 6th, and the headache-inducing Head First PMP book... I loved the first two and clearly hated the third. However, they did all have one thing in common. My head was spinning with the amount of nonsense that each of those books included on a topic that should cut to the chase. Miss Ellis' book did just that. No fluff. No mess. No confusion.I'm happy to say that after having gone through the 50 questions -- sorry, I skipped the bonus ones that she said were too complex for the test -- I now feel that I can go in there and crush any EVM questions. As someone who loves math, it's hard to pass up those questions as freebies on a test that includes so much subjectivity. If you feel as I do, buy this book NOW. You won't regret it! I'll be going through her critical path book tomorrow. Look for that review as well.Thank you, Miss Ellis! Your book helped clear up a subject that had been mired in flowery language!

Great book to understand PMP calculations
Must buy for anyone sitting for the PMP exam!!After reading both the Andy Crowe and Rita Mulcahy's books, I needed a condensed and very direct approach to understanding EV calculations. This book is GREAT!! Lots of questions along with answers to study and improve. After taking several prep exams, I feel this book helped me pass calculations with flying colors. It is well worth the money!! Thanks Aileen for a simplistic and organized book to pass calculations.

Great workbook
This is an excellent workbook to practice PMP Earned Value questions only. The explanations are very detailed and it helps me to understand why I picked the wrong answer. The beginning introduces all possible formulas as well as a link to a video that was taken at one of her live prep courses. Cost was my biggest concern because I am not good at math, however, now I hope I will have lots of EV questions on my exam. Once you understand the formulas, it is really easy. My exam is scheduled and I can highly recommend this book for practicing purposes.

Pass the PMP with Aileen's help!
I highly recommend Aileen Ellis's material. My aunt is a PMP and gave this book to me because it was really helpful to her. This book helped me to really understand Earned Value questions while preparing for my PMP Certification. She does a wonderful job of breaking the material down! I highly recommend this book and the You Tube videos that go along with it. I set a goal to complete the book within a week and did so. I reviewed it again before my exam with ease. I was able to answer the questions on the exam by interpreting the graphs and understanding EV's value and its affect on AC and PV. I purchased two other books in her miniseries as well. I highly recommend this book, the one on Network Diagrams and Contract Calculations questions. Of course there are others, but I needed help in these areas. Thank you Aileen Ellis and of course, my Aunt J., for the introducing my to Aileen.

A Beneficial Practice Aid
This Kindle book is largely a good resource for study and will benefit students. The book is very short and is composed of a preface of 4 pages another section titled Set Up composed of just over 1 page.Part One is a very brief explanation of key Earned Value terms and concepts. On the first page is a link to a short You Tube Video (8 Min). The video will be of value to those who need a very basic refresher of Earned Value. Earned Value is explained in a clear fashion in this video. The explanations in Part One are accurate and useful, with one exception. The TCPI-BAC and TCPI-EAC formula explanations and interpretations are not accurate. There is a wide and very common mis-understanding of this key Earned Value index in Earned Value books. Thus far, very few authors have accurately explained and interpreted the TCPIs.Part Two is the practice test of 50 questions and the test questions are very well written. Writing good test questions is difficult and creating a good set of multiple choice answers is challenging. This author has done a fine job in both respects. I took the test as any student would with pencil and calculator at hand. All test questions were accurate presentations of Earned Value and will challenge the student. One area of improvement is related to the TCPI issue cited above. The test could be improved through the incorporation of TCPI-EAC and TCPI-BAC questions and testing student interpretation. In summary, if you need to practice Earned Value formulas, then this practice test will help you towards that goal. However, you will need to seek another source for accurate understanding and interpretation of the TCPI-BAC and TCPI-EAC. Buy the book and test your understanding of Earned Value.

Great study aid for EV problems on the PMP!
My wife and I recently took and passed the PMP. This book was extremely helpful is helping us with the Earned Value portion of the material. The problems in this book approach Earned Value from all angles in a straightforward and consistent manner. By the end of the book, we knew that we could indeed count on getting all of the EV problems right. While the title of this book clearly explains what it is, I would make the following suggestions to the author for a future publication. Instead of Earned Value alone, I would have liked to have some problems on the different types of procurement contracts (FPIF, CPIF etc...) and Expected Monetary Value (EMV). There are none in the PMBOK and only a handful in study guides such as the PMP for Dummies.Again, this book clearly explains what it is and it delivers on it's promise. For the price it was the best study aid I used for the PMP.
