Update after testing.
I bought this item as I need a timer that can do 10 time controls on my thermostat per weekday. I am still testing it but my concerns are ease of programming and accuracy.Contrary to some reviews, I found the timer to be easy to program. Perhaps the video that is posted with the description wasn't available at that time. The video is very educational and useful.I'm presently testing the item for accuracy and will post an update after I run it for a week or so. For me, accuracy is finding that the clock is accurate and stable. I might add that I did quite a bit of research and this product was amazingly affordable. I will update this review after I do further clock accuracy tests.I need this timer to control my thermostat with five on/off cycles per weekday. I basically use it as a load controller to control my thermostat. Nobody makes a thermostat that can be controlled by the minute. Because my electric utility charges $17.44 per Kw of demand, calculated hourly, and my A/c plus vampire loads equals in excess of 6 Kw, I need to limit the A/C to 15 minutes per hour during the Demand time. If you don't understand, it just means I run my A/C for 15 minutes per hour between 3 PM and 8 PM.The accuracy of the clock was important as was ease of programming. This device has an accurate clock and appears to be very dependable in it's execution of schedules. I give it 5 stars for my application. Also I found it very east to program. I did a lot of searching to find this product and I'm very happy with it. I have no connection to the manufacturer and this is my honest opinion.Terry

This is the best overall Astro Timer I have used - Great Features
The features I laik about this product are the weatherproff case, the super capicatior (no batteries) and the accuracy - the clock does not drift much like others. The programming is a bit different but once understood it is easy. In Astro mode it auto operates on and dusk off at dawn. That does not need to be set. So you just need to program the other off and on times. I set mine to on at 4:15 AM and off at 10:15 PM and Astro mode. Therefore, on at 4:15 AM and off at dawn and on at dusk and off at 10;15 PM. I did have to program an offset for both dusk and dawn - but that was easy also once understood.I should add that the installation requires electrical work - it is hard wired and there are no plugs. The 120 version has a Normally Closed and a Normally Open connection. This in itself requires electrical prowess. For me this is great - but for others maybe not. The instructions clearly state that an electrician is required. With no batteries to ever change and auto daylight savings time and leap year and very little clock drift - you never have to touch it. Recommended over all others i have used in 20+ years. I have been using astro timers since they were first introduced. I wish they offered a stainless steel case but that is OK if the plastic one holds up.I should note that electrical work is required, there are no plugs and it is only directly connected. The 120 model also has normally open and normally closed contacts. The normally closed (NC) contact is energized when the timer is off. Nice feature but requires electrical understanding. The manual clearly states that an electrician is required for installation.

Great Commercial Time Switch
Good: Easy to install and program. Has override features for testing. Versatile. Great value for features.Bad: plastic feels a little cheaply made. Note: It does not change on/off state when changes are made to the program. On/off state only changes when programmed times are reached.

Good heavy duty timer.
I replaced a mechanical version that had failed. This unit fit into the same space. I did change some of the feed wiring to a larger gauge to handle 20 amps. Overall it was an easy install for me. If you are not familear with working with electricity you should let a qualified electrician do the install.

The setup isn't too bad, if you're used to dealing with consumer electronics ...
It works just as advertised. You tell it your latitude and it estimates when sunrise and sunset is throughout the year. You can give it an offset from its calculated times; since it doesn't know where you are in your time zone you probably want to use this feature. I have on set for 20 mins after sunset and off set for 10 mins before sunrise. The setup isn't too bad, if you're used to dealing with consumer electronics you can figure this out just fine. The manual is adequate at best but leave some things up to the user to figure out. There are plenty of other modes including a one-button override (switches off if on, and on if off) and a full manual mode. It automatically adjusts for daylight savings time. I like this unit a lot and it saved a bunch of money and frustration over dealing with a photocell. Highly recommended.

Second one now failed
Seems these have a 4 year life. I have 4 of these and now, after 4 years, 2 of them have failed in rapid succession. Very disappointing.

Timer works great.
The timer works as advertised. It supports multiple on/off events per day. Events can be tied to local sunrise and sunset times. The programming is less than intuitive. Search for YouTube videos for assistance. The English instructions are a literal translation from Chinese. Unfortunately, the Chinese version was not written by anyone that had ever used the device.The. LCD display is tiny and not lighted. You will need a magnifying glass. You may need a flashlight to make the LCD readable. Unfortunately, the timer cannot be removed from the case to allow programming in a dry well lighted location . So, take care to mount the timer in a spot that is convenient for programming.

Works Like A Charm After You Program The Lead and Lag Settings
A great time. Wired easily and has a sturdy case. The only problem for me was deciding how far in front of official sundown do you want the lighting to come on, and how far after sunrise do you want the lighting to go off. Being Church security lighting - everyone had an opinion as to what was best. We worked through it at a half hour for each and everyone seems happy, along with the timer just humming along, compensating like it's supposed to do.
