It works for me
I placed a GC 8799 vent clamp, per other reviewer "Hardly Working", to a DirecTV slimline J-mast.At the smaller opening of this clamp, I inserted and tightened a Channel Master 1805 pole(thick end down)inserted and tightened. The Channel Master 1805 five foot galvanzied hollow steel pole is very strong, not light/tinny/aluminum. Product has a tappered top end to add an additional pole if desired.I then stacked on TWO Colorstream C2v antennas (each antenna has the high-VHF with the UHF elements). One C2v is facing tower 36 miles SE and the other C2v is facing tower 2 miles west of here.Attached each C2v antenna's RG6 to each existing DirectTV RG cable that ran down into my apartment. Each of these two DirectTV lines are then joined into a coupler/combiner Winegard CC-7870 behind my digital tv.(alternative is to use a Sterm 200-315 A/B high isolation switch box instead but you have to get up to go select an antenna). The CC-7870 receives each DirecTV cable and sorts the signals, and then you run a short RG6 cable from it to your TV screw-on.Great picture. Glad I checked the Amazon reviews. Now I also get two Sacramento stations. I live in SF Mission Dolores flat area surrounded by steep ridges or distant hilltops. Had a RCA 751 aimed southeast & Winegard FV-HD30 aimed West on PVC pole. What an improvement and stronger broadcast signals. Thanks Amazon reviewers!

Very useful
Great for holding a screwdriver antenna onto a vertical section of rack on a jeep wrangler soft top. I like it.

Solid Product
My plan was to use this to connect a base HAM radio antenna to a vent pipe on my roof. Once I received it, I realized that I already had what I needed to perform the install. Since shipping was a large part of this purchase, I plan to just keep it for a future project. The metal is heavy and solid, constructed well. Comes with related bolt. You need to order two of these to do a proper installation. There is some unknowns about if this will work with up to a 1.25" pole, or if it must be a 1.25" pole. The item listing says something slightly different than the package description. But it will very likely work with a 1 to 1.25 inch diameter mast connecting to a 2" vent pipe. MAKE SURE you are connecting to a METAL vent pipe and specifically not PVC! :) Seems like a solid product. Quickly shipped by this vender.

Exactly what you need to reuse an old Satellite Dish Mount
I was moving on from DirecTV and wanted to put up an outside antenna. The j-mount used by the DirecTV was already drilled into the roof and extremely stable, so I was planning on reusing it for the TV antenna. The only problem is that satellite dishes use a mount which is 2" in outer diameter. Standard TV masts are 1.25" in diameter, with the larger masts being 1.66" in outer diameter. Most TV antennas come with U-Bolts which are used to secure the antenna to the mast, but they normally only support masts with a diameter of up to 1.5".That's where this wonderful clamp comes into play. You simply unmount the satellite dish. Use this clamp to attach a standard antenna mast to your old satellite mount, and attach the antenna to a standard mast. The only thing you will need is a wrench. No drilling needed. This also allows you to elevate the antenna higher than your old j mount. For reference I had a DirecTV slimline j-mount, with a Channel Master 1805 super mast, and a Channel Master 2018 antenna. It seems very sturdy and the clamp was easy to use. The only reason I took a star off is the price. I feel like the $16($9.99 plus shipping) for the clamp is slightly pricey for what it is, but it is the perfect solution, was well packaged and came extremely quickly with USPS priority mail.

Works well
Um, it's a clamp . . . We used it to attach our TV antenna mast to our old DirecTV J-mount, and it worked very well. We've had a few storms and nothing has fallen off the roof, so I'd say it's a success and the clamp is holding well.

Good quality, just like they were back in the 80's.
Good quality, just like they were back in the 80's. Hard to find these now days, but if you have an antenna project, they can come in handy. Will fit rooftop vent pipes (careful if yours are plastic), or old Dish Network or Direct TV satellite dish mounting arms. If you use the satelite mounting arm (remove the old dish), this will allow you to clamp a small mast pipe on it for various TV, CB or HAM antenna uses. The small side is for the masting, the larger is for the vent pipe or satellite arm as they are larger diamater.

Antenna Support
Works great on the vent pipe to support the antenna mast - have bought a couple for clients who want simple "over-the-air" television!

Good service all three times I have ordered
At different times I have needed to buy vent clamps to secure different tv antenna masts to vent pipes on the roof. I looked all over Los Angeles but could not find them for sale, so I resorted to ordering through Amazon. Each of the three times I have ordered, the clamp has arrived promptly, in new condition, and with the necessary bolt.
