New Balance Men's 813 V1 Hook and Loop Walking Shoe

I have wide, wide feet, high arches and a bunion, and this is one of the few shoes that are comfy and look good for all but the most formal of occasions (I don't have any of those in my life, so I'm good). I order one size up to clear room for my big toes (13 sted 12.5) and wear a thick sock to keep my feet from moving around. When I bought a true-size 12.5, I had to wear a band-aid over a senstive spot on my foot to prevent chafing. These shoes last a long, long time and are a good value. Cheaper look-a-likes are a fast track to sliced up feet.

Shoes are comfortable and easy to put on. However the Velcro straps are way too long. Stopped wearing them.

They are a nice shoe, but they are a little tight and I order a size 13 wide and got medium. I did not pay attention and did not send them back.

Shoes are great. Have worn these types of shoes ( from the same manufacturer) for many years. Priced right, and very comfortable. I sometimes work trade shows, your on your feet all day. The shoes are a walking shoe so being in them all day is pleasant without any discomfort. Priced right

They fit well. Walking heel feels comfortable. I feel the need for a little more cushion in the arch for a comfortable stride. Just a little.

I had always purchased the 577 New Balance Velcro walking shoe but I read all the information on the differences between the 577 and 813. Since I am a senior walker only, I liked the rollbar stability in the 813 versus the 577's shock absorption. I also liked the longer velcro straps on the 813 and they were on sale. My older 577 shoes have a more rounded toe and are more comfy whereas the 877 shoes are slightly more narrow and they are also puffy until broken in. So time will tell if I made the right decision. The new 813 shoes in the picture are on the left and the much-worn 577 shoes are on the right. Note the toe shape, width and strap length.

the tongue is wide and thick and the straps are more comfortable than laces. the straps make for quick adjustments for fit and tightness and can also be trimmed to suit. i use these during my cardiac rehab and have had them for a few weeks since my surgery. easy for me to put on without strain or effort.

the first pair of shoes I purchased on line.. they came quickly, were exactly the right size and have been very comfortable.. I bought them for a political campaign I was door knocking for which saw 15-20,000 steps a day for 4 months.. the shoes worked great.

I have worn New Balance shoes for the last 40 years and the quality and fit has not faltered.
