Best solution for an easy installation
Over the past 30+ years of fixing, repairing and replacing my mailbox which seemed to be damaged with every snowstorm. The town plows bulldoze them at least 3 times per winter usually it’s a simple but an annoying repair. It’s the same all over my neighborhood where a pressure treated post is the most popular setup. With this SwingClear system the post is driven into the ground 54” from the road keeping it clear from plow damage 2 storms since I installed it no problems at all. If the box itself is hit it can swing out of the way and gravity should take it back to its original position. It cost me a bit more than the old system but installation was easy just using a small sledge hammer. No need to waste a few hours digging a hole in frozen ground and mixing cement.

Clear WINNER
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: We've had this for a year and a half, and it still looks/functions as new. Also, it's super easy to mow around, haha (see video). Buy with confidence!Initial reaction, this is a great product. That being said, I've only had it installed for 24 hours. We've lost a couple mailboxes to plows and farm equipment, so a change from the norm was a necessity (unless I wanted to keep swapping out posts/boxes). The design is great, as it allowed me to drive in the post a good distance from the road. Speaking of driving in the post, it was super easy with a board and sledge. The whole install probably took 20 minutes. The setup is solid and feels like it will last a long time. A mounting board was included, which was a really nice touch! Unfortunately, my box was a little bit bigger than standard, so I had to cut/drill a new board to fit; this was no big deal though. After comparing it to several other moveable mailbox types out there, I chose this for its simple mechanics. There are no ball bearings or parts that can fail. I fully expect this to serve us trouble-free the rest of the time we live in this home. I don't have a long track record with this obviously, but based on initial review, this is a WINNER. I'll update in the future if anything changes. :-)

Good mailbox holder
Was easy to install and set up. Missing good mounting for a mailbox though. Bolts to hold a piece of wood to mount mailbox to where too short. Had to countersink them hald way through a 2 by 6. Pole also took a bit to find ground solid enough that it feels sturdy.

Awesome on our rural road!
It has saved me probably 2 mailboxes by now. With distracted drivers, the snow plow, and jerks that play mailbox baseball, I was going through mailboxes every 2 years or less. It looks nice and performs great!

Good quality, American made, easy to put up. Just bought another one
LOVE this!! After losing my mailbox to the plow driver several time last winter, I was fed up and looking for an alternative that was easy to assemble, to put up and also affordable. I looked elsewhere and saw several makers who offered pretty much the same thing for about twice as much; then I found this one. This unit is very good quality, and super easy to put together and erect. I have no talent at things of this nature, and if I can so it, pretty much anyone can (-: The most difficult part was driving in the bottom piece without help ( because it's hard to handle a maul, a board and keep the piece upright at the same time...so having an extra set of hands would be helpful at that point...but I got it done!) That said, if you have hard ground, it will be worth your time to either soak the site well a few days in advance to soften up the ground, or to drive in a T-post a little ways to make a "guide hole" so that the bottom piece will stand on it's own while you pound it in. ( I did both) So now, for a change, I hope to have a winter where I actually have a standing mailbox all winter. Update 10/23....I just bought a second one of these for my new place, also out in the country in a snowy state. The mailbox that was there was wiped out by a snowplow, so clearly I'll need one of these at the new place too.

Problem solved!
We had a problem mailbox location on a ditch, at the edge of the pavement, with a steep bank behind. We have lost mailboxes from being hit, breaking the post and denting the mailbox. We have also had problems with the post tilting due to the water in the ditch. This swing-away system looks like it is working! We were able to set the post into the bank across the ditch because the arm is long and the 24 in extension gave us the extra height we needed. Only time will tell how it holds up to being hit! It was as easy as the video showed to install. We are very pleased!
