not as advertised and badly made
where to begin. This lathe is 220v, not 110v but it does not state either anywhere on the description.description states 600W, but manual and motor state 450Wmanual states package includes follower and steady rests, 4 jaw chuck and chuck faceplate. none of these items are in the description or are included.Lathe has no chip tray even though it is pictured with one.tail stock is roughly 1/16th too high with no ability to raise or lower, will require milling and benching to change the height so unless you have access to a mill, you might as well throw the tail stock away.a 110/220 step up transformer is ~$30, a 4 jaw chuck is ~$90, i cant find a tailstock on amazon that will fit this machine but thankfully i have a mill to fix it myself, chip tray is 80-150, 600w motor is $150.as of yet, i have not powered it on.i would love a response from customer service on these issues.***Edit***I originally thought that it was 220v because the manual says it is, but now that I have looked further into it, the wiring is set up for 110v. I think mine is just broken. Still investigating and awaiting response from customer service.

Good buy for the money
Lathe was received well packed and in excellent condition in a wood crate. All machining and finish was top of the line for a Chinese machine. As with any Chinese lathe I had to spend the first day disassembling and cleaning the grinding grit from the Chuck and slides to get them to perform well. After that I installed a Jinwen steel quick change tool post.I ran a four inch aluminum tube and later a two inch industrial steel bar to see what it would do. It cut both well without any noticeable drop in rpm. It comes with metal gears, not the plastic ones the others use, but make sure you read the instructions and lube everything because it comes dry. I was hesitant to pay the somewhat higher price compared to the cheaper ones until I realized the upgrades that this comes with far out weigh the price difference. The digital readout works ok. Some of the people answering questions about this lathe say it does not have a digital readout or metal gears but they must work for the other lathe sellers because it does. Happy I held out until I could buy a somewhat better one because it was worth it.

A fine machine for its size.
I did several minor tweaks to this but for the most part it has performed fine for a dinky lathe. If you confine the work to small parts and shallow cuts it does fine, but pushing those parameters will cause chatter and stalling. Nonetheless, I gave it 5 stars because for its class it performs well. Variable speed works well and there are no plastic gears. Its portability and small size were the driving factors in buying.
