It’s a nice idea, two of them had round holes two of them had rectangular holes. Because they’re not as deformable as wood they have to be exactly right for your file and they didn’t fit any of mine that were the appropriate length. They’re definitely not big enough for fat American tangs. Maybe some of your swiss style files might fit but mine went in and the file handle would fall right off. Something ain’t right! They come in this cool little burlap bag… The only thing is I did not order a burlap bag. Put the money into a malleable tang hole and keep the bag.

Fit all of my files except one. Just a few taps of the hammer seats them on the file shank. One file shank was a little to big so I heated the shank with a propane torch and then installed it. The heat melted the plastic allowing the shank to fit into the hole.

Worked for me. Heated up the tool and pushed in to make it strong.

I had 5 files with a variety of tang sizes. This assortment of handles was able to secure hold all of them. I would definitely purchase them again.
