In-depth and entertainment behind the scenes profile!
Gordon Ingram WAS a genius with regard to designing firearms! This book tells his story and what goes on “behind the scenes” of bringing his product to market. Some of the characters Mr. Ingram encounter are/were on the “shady” side of things. This book would make for a great movie or documentary!A MUST READ for all enthusiasts of his products!! 👍🇺🇸

Tells the real story that's better than the legends.
I like this book for a number of reasons that are good to me. This is a well written history of Ingram and his associates as they developed various types of firearms and related products with photos and drawings to show what is been written about. Outlined in this story are the good business decisions and the bad ones, how the market for full tilt real assault weapons (1100 rounds per minute) was misjudged, and the projected money didn't appear as expected. I had the impression for years that the main MAC 10/11 guns were poor performers, but this book shows the report from British SBS telling how they tested the MAC 10/45 and found it to be a weapon of choice and even recommended that the British MoD buy the gun for the SBS to replace the British Sterling machine gun. As for the quality of the book, its great. If the history of the man and his guns interests you, this is the book to have. If your looking for working plans/blueprints those are all over the web, but not in this book this one is history.

Everything you wanted to know about MACs
Gordon Ingram like so many immortally famous men never became wealthy. There were times when he may have been living high on the hog, but it all depended on the immediate fortunes of his employers. The author is not judgmental in his treatment of the various and sundry personalities Ingram met in his career, but the reader may well take it that the New York venture capitalists or even Mitch WerBell himself are the villains of the piece. I especially liked the chapter on Juan Erquiaga, another of my favorite gun designers. I wish it had been longer. I always wondered whether his customers really did drive down the street backwards to escape the authorities.

A First Class Act
Being an artist, engineer, designer, draftsman and having a deep interest in firearms since I was 5 years old, I feel that this book captures the essence of this little gun and catalogs the entire history of Gordon Ingram's masterpiece. This book highlights the checkered path on which Ingram's designs ventured making it very obvious that he - like a few other firearms designers - were not part of the so-called 'Ordnance Ring' (not mentioned in the book) and that he fell foul from nearly every single law, government and agency ever devised by mankind. It was painful to read just how many times Ingram's MAC production was stymied by design, production, sales and management change-overs.I have had the opportunity to handle various MACs in various firearms museums and remain fascinated by its simplicity and raw abundance of firepower.I reiterate that I rate this book very highly indeed and hope that a reprint will include more drawing cross -sections.I contacted the Publishers, Chipotle Publishing LLC enquiring how I could obtain the signatures of both authors, Frank Iannamico, Don Thomas and Ingram's daughter, Michelle Ingram- DeLong, who designed the superb front cover. It was disappointing that Chipotle never bothered to reply."The Mac Man' is required reading!

Amazing Book!
First of all I ordered this used for the cheapest price ($50) available but got a new book still sealed in plastic that had never been opened in perfect condition. Great seller! The book - amazing. I am a Gordon Ingram/MAC nerd so if you are like this or even close this book is a MUST! Even if you’re just a gun or military history guy, this book is great. Tons of detailed content, crazy real stories and tons of very detailed pictures PLUS tons of data and schematics on the numerous versions of the MAC. One of the best book purchases I’ve ever made, expensive but worth twice the price! Recommend!!!

Wanna know the life of the Mac Man?
Great book describing the history of Gordan B Ingrams creations. Using the history known by hus daughter and a few of his still living friends, they were able to compile a lovely book of the history of hus genius. From the firearm shops he owned to his life escapades as a gun runner. If you are looking into running a gun shop, i would recommend you read this to better understand the relationship he understood as a salesman and fullfilling customers needs.

Genial.
