Great looking, and easy to assemble!
I am very impressed with this file cabinet! I was a little hesitant about purchasing something I had to assemble, but decided for the price, I would give it a try. I am a 62 year old woman, and assembled this by myself with no problems. I will say that I am married to a carpenter, and my dad was also very handy with all things mechanical, so maybe I have a natural instinct for this kind of thing. But if you can read, and follow picture diagrams, you should be able to do it, too.All parts were clearly marked, all the different types of hardware pieces were packaged separately. The instructions were mostly step-by-step pictures, showing each wood piece and how many pieces of each hardware would be used, etc. I'd never used a cam lock before, but the instructions showed exactly what they were and how to place them. The tools I needed were:Screwdriver - I might have used both flat head and phillips screwdrivers, I don't remember now.Tape measure & pencil - I marked the dowels to make sure I got them in the holes at the right depth. You can probably eyeball it, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist.Small hammer to tap in the dowels.Power drill to put the screws in the back panel, because the arthritis in my hands didn't really want me to try to put those 14 or so screws all in by hand, though they probably could have been screwed in by hand if necessary.Carpenter's glue, because even though glue was included with the hardware, there wasn't enough of it to complete the job, and I used the provided glue pretty sparingly. I think they should include more glue with the hardware. It took me a few hours to assemble - maybe 4 or 5 overall - but I worked pretty slow, making sure I had everything exactly right. Working slowly and carefully paid off, and I ended up with a very attractive, sturdy file cabinet! Looking at this cabinet, no one would know how little I paid for it.

Attractive Filing System.
Dislike putting together. Tried to avoid, ...I will be using in study/computer room to store files properly.Tools needed phillips head, flat head, rubber mallet.I have not tried to put together. Very overwhelmed.Arrived on time. No problem with product. Took awhile to unpack. All good. Now need to work up putting together.I wish in description mentioned assembly needed.Well about 2 days of looking at this I decided to put together and was going to take my time and read the instructions thoroughly. Well, it went as smooth as silk. The instructions were very well explained except for one thing. I got confused when this particular "D" with a phillips head dropped right in the hole. It would not screw. So my thinking was to glue down. NO MISTAKE... Found this out later. It is a lock nut to the post you are going to put in the same area. You have to turn it to lock in. Needless to say it was on the Top of the cabinet and I cannot get it to go down because the lock nut does not move. I am afraid I don't have strength. You can only see when you bend over and look under.. Mistake 2, put plenty of glue on the "B " pieces wood. This will hold in place too. My inexperience with doing this I was quite proud I did it all myself. I sure could have used some input. I read the instructions, but forgot to use a rubber mallet anywhere. Hope it hold up. I really love it. READ AND KNOW WHAT A CAM LOCK IS.

Don't purchase if you dislike assembling.
Hello folks, read the title carefully because this product comes in allot of pieces and assembling would be an understatement. Putting that to pasture for the folks that can assemble things this product is very assemble friendly, furniture companies they should follow Z-Line Designs assembling instructions as they greatly thought out for the consumer when they assembled this product. The material of this product is actually durable. When this product is fully assembled it is a hefty 47lbs the packaging that came with it is probably ounces. Delivery service would probably hate you if he had to deliver to a 2nd floor without an elevator. Opening the box everything is labeled clearly from the panel parts to screws, bolts and glue all are in letter organized bubble bags even the instruction manual and pictures are clearly well read. If you are overwhelmed by the amount of parts, don't be it takes about 30+ minutes for a single person to assemble it. It took me a bit longer because I glued everything using Gorilla wood glue instead of the glue that was provided. The only real wood is the top surface and the rest is good thick veneer wood. The piece that feels flimsy is the lower front kick plate and internal support beams but other than that if feels sold when assembled. When it's finally assembled it looks, feels and weights like real cherry wood. Internal side rails glides the drawers in and out smoothly and feels secure and not clunky. The handles are light and can handle the wear and tear. The only drawer that can lock is the top drawer but don't expect it to be indestructible it will prevent children from opening it but a simple screw driver can probably pop it open. I've scoured all over the web and local stores new and used for this product or similar and they are well over $100+ and the ones that are used are really worn down. Jumped onto Amazon and they are selling it for $95 with free shipping, that's hard to beat, if you can fine this product cheaper get it. Below are several photos of the product including the exact tools you'll need to assemble, didn't have a rubber mallet used a small hammer instead.
