Glow is almost imperceptible in full darkness
This is a really neat idea that I wish worked. Specifically, I wish I could have determined if my item is defective, or if this is truly what should be expected. If the latter, the product image is wildly misleading. The item was carefully assembled in its few parts - housing, pellet of choice (unable to determine any difference from the two provided and not labeled), o-ring for holding pellet, and o-ring for holding cylinder in housing with pellet atop. Once assembled, I moved the item into a dark closet room where i can see a VERY faint glow. I need to stare to see it. It is so faint that the color cannot be easily determined. My hope was to chat with manufacturer or seller. This was not possible. Eventually I was able to get help to obtain a refund since I could not return it without incurring a charge or going way out of my way. My preference would have been a working item, but no path forward unfortunately.

Special Operations soldier approved
Being a Special Operations soldier for the last 29 years in the US Army, I have used all forms of glow in the dark tapes, powders, fobs ect. A few of my soldiers purchased this item and I was able to see how well it performed first hand. As far as the glow fob itself. It’s very robust and holds the tritium very securely. The glow in the dark isotope holds its glow very well, a lot longer than many of the items we currently use today. It is NOT bright enough to read by nor navigate by, but is very useful for locating objects in dark environments. The darker and the longer you stay in the dark area, away from light, the easier it is to see the fob. We navigate many times in complete darkness, so preserving our nighttime vision is critical to our training as well as missions, that being said, we do not use white light at night. I now have this fob, as well as a few others with my gear ready for my next deployment. I will try and write back as to how well they hold up under these type conditions, but so far they have survived over 40 free fall parachute jumps, at least 20 deep water military scuba dives and several months of very harsh desert and urban training scenarios. I just ordered this one in the aqua color to see how bright it is compared to the green. In my opinion, this is a very nice product, and no, the company has not offered me a thing to write this.SGM Brian DavisUS Army

Tritium vial not included
My wife knows I've been wanting a tritium keychain for a long time. It arrived today. Be aware that the glow pellet included in this keychain is a glow in the dark piece of plastic which is fine, but it is not probably what most people are expecting. It is a clever design that uses the light from a Not Included tritium vial to charge the glow in the dark plastic pellet.I was not able to find a 3x11mm tritium vial on Amazon for less than $25. I just ordered one from Taiwan for about $11.You have to read carefully about what is and is not included in the price of this item. It is not clear to my wife, and I had also assumed that it would be in the package.
