My son (9 y.o.) has begun sketching original cartoons on everything the past year, and we were constantly struggling to carry paper and pencils for him when we go out and about, so we found this and gave it as a gift. He has not left the house without it since, and it has been great. It is the perfect size to remain compact with all materials needed in a small and portable space, and then everything is very easily accessible right from opening the flaps, no need to "unpack" to use. We have found the paper size is thankfully also very compatible with pads we have found readily available, to keep plenty of paper. We really love it also for having basics of multiple sketch mediums, encouraging our beginning artist son to experiment with different things. Very well worth it!

Not going to lie, I bought this for the case with the intent to replace all the supplies with my normal art supplies (which is what is pictured in the photo). That said, the included supplies are very nice. Pencils have a nice weight, and sharpen well. The included sharpener works great even on the charcoal pencil. The soft pastels lay down smooth and are a nice range of colors.Only possible complaint I have is the paper pad only has 10 sheets. However royal & langnickel sells a 'drawing artist pad' with the correct dimensions of 5x7 in 40 sheets that fits in the case perfectly.

I really like this set. It gives me plenty of options for drawing and shading pencils and colors as well. Only drawback I found is that the 10 sheets of paper it comes with doesn't last long.

Easy to pack, looks nice

I literally cannot remember who i bought this for. I have such a compulsion to buy things for myself and people that I cannot mentally track who I have bought things for. Like, there is a flag I bought its an " lol im dangerous no step on snek" flag and it's not in my house... where the heck did it go? Where is this pen set? I don't even know any artist that would use such a thing, they have all gone digital. Maybe it was for my teenage nephew who I am trying to save for the clutches of AI ruled world. I don't know. There needs to be a shopping addiction site or something I can use.Worked great!

Satisfied with quality, quantity and price. Perfect for daughter who is obsessed with art. It made her feel more like an "artist". 😊 The case I perfect and holds everything without issue.

The concept is good but the pencils are not high quality and they are not labeled at the correct softness. The sketch pad is an odd size, which I thought would be ok but it's a hassle and no other size will fit (I tried it). The pastels are really too soft for learning with - very, very dusty. I should have returned it but I unwrapped everything and tested everything and there's only 10 sheets of paper, so I let the return date come and go. However, others have commented this is good for children.

Bought these as gifts for 2 high schoolers. They loved it. Had what they needed.
