Exactly what you need for checking trail cams
Im an old school bow hunter (35 yrs with stick and string). A few years ago I bought a couple of trail cameras that were on clearance. Nothing fancy just basic cameras. I decided I would try my hand at letting the cameras do all the work. Well I actually enjoyed seeing all the wildlife on film. The problem was i would pull the SD cards. Go home and load them up on my computer. So this year I decided to Look for a card reader that would work with my IPhone for checking trail cameras while out in the field.I purchased this one hoping it would meet my needs. Ladies and gents It did.Very easy to use. Put your SD card in the reader. Plug the reader into your phone. Download the app and your off and running. The only suggestion that I would give anyone who uses this reader is to screen shoot the pics you want to save.I do this and then delete all the pics off the card right from the app so the card is ready to go back into my trail cameras before I leave the timber.Hope this helps any old school bowhunters out there.

WORKS WELL FOR VIEWING TRAIL CAM PICS
BoneView card reader works great for viewing SD cards from game camera with my iPhone 8+. Haven’t quite figured out the best way to import photos to my iPhone photo storage. Looks like you need to look at all photos first and make a note of which photos (by number) you want to save and them add them one by one. You can also “select all” and save all the photos and then delete the ones you don’t want but this is a lengthy process. Still learning so there may be a better way to accomplish this. NOTE TO SHIPPER: I RECEIVED MY READER IN PERFECT CONDITION. HOWEVER, THE PADDED ENVELOPE WAS TOTALLY UNSEALED AND THE READER FELL OUT WHILE I WAS HANDLING IT. SOMEONE SEALING THE ENVELOPE MISSED THE BODY OF THE ENVELOPE WITH THE STICKY FOLDING FLAP WHICH APPEARS TO BE MUCH TOO SHORT.

AWEFUL
This is the WORST card reader I’ve ever owned. Never downloads all the pictures. Randomly freezes! Takes me 15-25 times until I can download a couple hundred pictures. Should have just set fire to $25 dollars. It would have been less frustrating!

May Not Work On a Particular iPad
The BoneView, new orange one, is an excellent device if it works on the Apple device. It worked great on two Apple cell phones 6’s and three Apple iPads (iPad, iPad Air, & iPad Air2). The BoneView app is great and you are able to view photos, videos, documents etc. on your Apple device without having to down load them to the device. I purchased an iPad Air 3, just released at end of March 2019, and the BoneView could not be recognized unless side pressure was put on the Lightning connector. This was also true for one cable I am using to charge other Apple products that use the Lightning connector that would not work on this new iPad Air 3. The Apple cable and three other third party cables worked fine. The Apple store said there is nothing wrong with the iPad since an Apple cable worked fine on the iPad Air 3. They said this is common with third party cables and devices. I returned the iPad Air 3 and purchased a iPad Pro 11 that uses a USB-C connector. If the BoneView would have worked on the new iPad Air 3, I would have given it 5 stars, but since something is not quite right with the connector when compared to an Apple connector I am giving it a 4 star review. I am waiting for a BoneView that works with a USB-C connector. I also believe something was also not quite right with the Lighting connector in the iPad Air 3. My friend has an old iPad in which the Lightning connector has worn out and the BoneView will not work on it unless side pressure is put on the connector. She also has to use an Apple cable since all third party cables she had and was using stopped charging the iPad due a failing connector in the iPad. The Apple OEM connector must be made a little different from third party connectors. On the bright side, I purchased a RAVPower FileHub Plus, Wireless Travel Router, Portable SD Card, HDD Backup Unit, DLNA NAS Sharing Media Streamer 6700mAh External Battery Pack for Android, Laptop, Cellphone, Ipad Pro which does the same thing as the BoneView but wirelessly. It is much larger and heavier than the BoneView and needs to be periodicity charged. It works with PCs, Apple computers, android products, iPads, iPhones, hard drives, hubs, etc. It is an alternative for now until a BoneView for USB-C is available.

DO NOT BUY!!
Do Not Buy! Used for about an hour and downloaded pics perfectly. And then it would only download 8 pics from the SD card. Tried numerous more times with same SD card and many others, same result, deleted app and re installed app, but nothing different. Would only download 8 pics and quit.

Use airplane mode
I was unable to make this thing work until I read a review that said to put in airplane mode. It works 100% of the time now! So,Put phone in airplane mode before use. Insert card and plug into phone. Asks permission to load to app.Maker of this product should hilight this info!

No laptop necessary
I use to haul my laptop out to my picnic shelter in the winter just to see what critters had come through the property. Now I can do everything on my iPhone and it is just so much easier. Omg!! Love it

Does not work
This item does not work!! Do not buy, complete waste of money. The App freezes when trying to read the card, tried on several IPhones and IPads, don’t waste your time.
