Easy to install, power ground and plug into video in on display unit, I gave installation 4 stars just because there is some drilling required and wiring to back up power wire, otherwise totally plug and play, great picture, perfect fit on my 2005 ford F-350. If you plan to remove your tailgate for any reason the drawback is that you have to disassemble your tailgate to unplug and remove wiring. installation took me about an hour.

Thing fits just like oem. People who had issues and blame the product, had people issues. It’s light weight will immediately make joe dirt think it’s cheap. It’s not...it’s 20 years of advanced plastics. Lighter stronger thinner. Harness is well made and loomed well. Connections are secure. Video is sharp bright color, night time is night time with reverse lights lighting the way. Nothings in color in the dark. Right? All in all. Handles legit. Bolts right up. True fit. Looks oem. Nice touch to my 19 year old superduty.****Update 1 year later- camera is still as good as day I put it in. No issues at all.

I have just installed the camera so I cannot speak to long-term performance. However, It does appear to perform satisfactorily and does look acceptable.Please keep in mind that this is not an OEM handle and will not fit perfectly - there will be slight gaps around the edges.Also, the method of attachment is not the same as the OEM handle. As others have noted, the bolts are molded and glued into the plastic. When you tighten them down, one or both will pop out. The OEM bolts are actually attached with a metal bracket between the two, which fits behind the handle's mounting plate, so, the bolts cannot be pulled through. This is a design flaw, and I personally had to drill two holes through the mounting plate of the camera handle and attach the OEM bolts to hold it on.The other issue you may run into is the power cord. The cord does not have a pig-tail power on the end of the video input like some harnesses. Nor does it come with a protective covering conduit. It is fairly long, but if you want to use it to reach the front of the truck and connect to the radio's power, If yours is a long-bed, you will need to either buy a different harness, or wire on an extension to reach. Again, you will also likely want to purchase a flexible conduit to protect the wires when you run them underneath the vehicle.I haven't found a better set up, so I am happy with my purchase. If someone were to ask, I would suggest watching as many you tube videos about installing these camera's to be prepared for any pitfalls.

I got the chrome….I didn’t have any fitment issues literally bolted it on ram some wires done. 2000 truck into the modem age. Camera is clear i don’t need 1080i to back up to a trailer or backing up.

Easy to install, but with everything straight, it’s not an even, perfect fit. The connector should be placed a few feet away from the camera so the tailgate can be removed without having to open the access panel. The image quality at night is barely acceptable, and it’s just as grainy during the day. Be warned that this comes with some cheap black paint on it that probably won’t hold up, it’s not textured plastic like the old factory handle. Despite mixed feelings, it’s good enough to keep, and the tailgate handle is probably the best place to mount the camera for hooking up a trailer by myself. The wiring was long enough for my crew cab short bed truck, but a long bed might need a longer harness.

It said that it fit a 2005 Ford F-250 so I ordered it. When it showed up I neatly wired all the wiring from my head unit to the tailgate. Upon installing the handle the fit was TERRIBLE!! There is a large gap all the way around the handle and I can actually see inside my tailgate. I reached out to the company 3 times over several weeks and have still not heard back. I was hoping I had just received a bad handle out of the bunch and they could just swap it out for another one but again no one will get back to me. Its too bad because the camera function works great but the handle looks rediculous on the truck. Due to the poor fit the handle doesn’t function right either. Save your money and look elsewhere. This is a buy at your own risk for proper fit on your vehicle. Maybe someone from the company will actually read my review and help me get it fixed so I change my rating of this product.

The handle was super easy to install and I had no issues with the way it fit or anything like that.The first one I got had a terrible picture. In bright sunlight the image was black and white and kind of glitchy.I got a replacement and tried again, the replacement works great. I disabled the built in lines overlaid on the picture by cutting the indicated wire and I used the ones in my stereo since they are adjustable and worked better for me.All said and done, now that I have a working replacement and have had it installed for a while, I am glad I got this. I would recommend it for anyone with one of these trucks.

Camera stopped working; purchased this camera kit on Sept 26, 2020 and was working fine until just a few days ago, camera quit working, black screen. I have already validated all other possible circuits, camera just wont work no image black screen. It has been 1.5 yr mark since I bought it and quite working on me. A bit disappointing because camera was working well and I was satisfied with it until now! I hope the selling dealer will back this up with a replacement camera kit.
