On offer is a Kerala style chefmaster made from Railroad and Iron. The blade is wide with a triangular point and gentle upward curve on the edge. The is forged extra thin for improved cutting performance. The blade has a textured forge finish on the spine and polished edge. This chefmaster made by Blacksmith from our local area, those who were experienced in this field from more than 10 decades. The blade and handle have been designed for comfort and efficiency. The handle has wooden round profile giving a firm grip, and the blade is just the right length for easy everyday use. The handle is made from Teak wood with a natural art design. The blade is held in the handle with resin and a brass retaining pin. The wood has been stained, oiled and polished for longevity and moisture resistance. The has been differentially heat by blacksmiths, treated to achieve a hard cutting edge and a softer spine. This gives the more flexibility, while still having a hard edge for cutting care:-Railroad Iron is super sharp and hard wearing but is not stainless, so it requires a little more care in the kitchen. Clean the soon after use and wipe dry immediately. It is good occasionally rub the blade with a light coat of food safe oil. The blade will darken slightly with use and develop a protective patina that will resist corrosion. To get the longest life out this tool, I don't recommend cleaning this in dishwasher.
