One part is easy to replace, the other impossible.
There are two parts. The one I needed was the button that acts as a plunger to open the bottom of the canister to empty the debris. It was not difficult to replace the part. The other part was impossible to replace.

Exactly the right part
Such a relief to find the right part for my Dyson. It was a perfect fit, but at a reasonable price rather than a Dyson price.

Didn't fit as it said it would
Obviously this was an aftermarket part, and although it said it was the correct application and looked like it would work, it was just slightly off in one critical measurement, so I just threw it away rather than hassle with a return.
