Potential (and, past) buyers beware. I have used this license plate holder for one and a half years now, on my 2019 Forester. I decided to take my license plate off today to clean behind it and was shocked and disappointed to find the rubber mounts have permanently stained and damaged my paint (pictures attached).If you ever plan to move your license plate, sell your car to someone, move to a state requiring no front license plate, or just simply care about the paint on your car...don’t buy this product.For reference - my car is garaged and cleaned every two weeks. A high quality product would not have caused this damage within 1.5 years. Proceed cautiously and shop for another option, like I should have.

This plate brracket mounts in to the soft bumper on your Subaru..there are two dimples in the plastic bumper that you will align this on. You can pre-punch the hole with an awl (or ice pick ) so when you screw in the supplied screw, all will be aligned. Just do it by hand with a screw driver so you don't over tighten it with a power driver.

I thought there was something wrong with this product because the holes did not line up with the holes in my bumper. The instructions were so tiny I didn't try to read them. Went to the dealer and ordered what turned out to be the exact same item for $10 more. But the dealer one had large instructions that explained that I was supposed to ignore the 2 big holes on my bumper and instead screw into the 4 very tiny dimples on the bumper (which I enlarged with an awl.

I recently bought a used car which had clearly never been licensed in a "front license plate state". After searching Amazon and reading reviews, I settled on the Trunknets mounting bracket, because it was $10 cheaper than most of the other options.Works as advertised! It was easy to install, and it seems plenty secure. One of the little plastic screw mounts for the license plate was broken; but it wasn't essential to keep the plate in place. For symmetry purposes, I just fashioned a replacement out of a plastic sheetrock anchor.My car is now happy and street legal!

Exact replica of what you can buy directly from Subaru. Fits my 2019 Forester perfectly. Super easy to install and comes with all the screws needed. You do need your own screw driver, yet that's not a huge deal. Would highly recommend this to other Subaru owners if you're looking for a front mounting plate for your car/SUV.

I bought this for the front bumper of my 2020 Subaru Outback Touring XT. While I like the mounting plate and it installed as advertised, I was expecting a more solid mount. It is attached only with two screws and feels a bit flimsy. There should have been a contoured spacer between the bumper and the mount. It is still better than the factory attachment of the license plate.The mount centers the license plate better on the bumper than mounting the license plate directly to the bumper. No regrets with the purchase but for the money, I was expecting a better product.

I was able to install this myself being a woman which is saying something. I would definitely recommend very good quality. Comes with all the parts you just need a screwdriver...

Works perfectly on my 2020 Subaru Outback. I moved to TX from a state that didn’t require front plates. We needed both the hardware and something to mount it to, and this works great. Has a sturdy base so my front plate won’t get bent easily. Screws installed at the dimples in the front bumper without drilling the holes first.
