This is absolutely the best waterproof around. I received this last week but the back plate was a little scratched up. I contacted amazon and they shipped out a brand new one right away. This is my first catalyst case and definitely won't be my last. The screen protector works amazing, none of that stupid rainbow effect that you get with so many. The case is super solid and I totally trust my phone in it should I happen to drop it. The only downside is the back does scratch up very easily, but when your outdoors all the time and around water it's a small price to pay for keeping your iPhone safe

Update: I used my iPhone 7plus case’s o ring seal for my Xs Max case and now the Xs Max case is waterproof! — Original review prior to update: My first catalyst waterproof case was for an iPhone 7 Plus and it was definitely waterproof. I just bought a Catalyst waterproof case for my XS max and it failed the water test instantly. Upon disassembly I noticed that the o ring was missing. Hopefully once I get a replacement o ring it’ll be at least as waterproof as my previous case. I also noticed that the front screen is clearer than my previous case.

This phone is better than others I’ve owned in the past. The front and back are made of a clear plastic material that protect it while under water. Texting is not an issue at all (unlike others). The only thing I’m not a fan of is the sound quality. It is distorted and phone vibrates when the volume is at the max.

I never write reviews but thus is the worst phone case I have ever had. The case is not waterproof despite following the instructions. After a 2.5 foot drop the phone falls out of the case. The only reason I bought this case was because of the positive reviews.Don’t waste your money or time I am going to work on returning this. Hopefully I can. Absolutely garbage case.

I've had several of these all break at the corners internally on the back part of the case. when they're intact they're great - put the phone right in the water, works excellent.But the repeat breakage from normal use (drops from at most 5ft) makes the price outrageous

I try almost every case when I get a new phone. This is THE case to get simply for the impressive specs. Waterproof and drop proof more than all others. I got this case right before a trip to Hawaii. Luckily I didn't drop the phone on the ground or water, lol, however, felt it wouldn't have been an issue.No problem at all taking pics ... no problem at all with the quality of sound ... no problem at all using the volume, touch screen, etc ... it even charges on my Qi charges without any problem! loving it!My only criticism, is seal at the bottom is a piece that can detach (see pic). I somehow lost mine. I contacted Catalyst who sent me a new one! Great customer service!This case is definitely worth the price!

Great looking case. However I have an issue with the Down volume button. It is pushed in or semi-pushed in all the time. So basically when I increase the volume it goes up, but as soon as I let go of the Up button, the volume starts to go down. You can tell that the Down volume button is already pushed in. I think this case is defective. Anyone else with this issue?. For a $90 case, I would expect much better.

I have owned three of these, they can go 6 meters/33 feet under water, can’t really use it underwater, other than recording video or watching downloaded movies underwater, after starting above water. I like the plug for charging, if it yanks out it goes right back onto it’s anchor point, sealable parts are replacable. I also like the mute knob, as the mute switch is so tiny the knob solution is a novel solution. Those I have had have been dropped into swimming pools, whirlpool saunas and bathtubs full of water, and above water I’ve dropped them from heights between 1 to 2 meter drops to edges/corners, they have never failed me. Never charge them near water (always fatal if you drop it into water while it’s charging and you’re in the same water). Always plug immediately after removing the charge cord. This is an A+ case, better than any other in my opinion.
