Photographic Digital Printing (Expanded Guides - Techniques)

I found this book in the nick of time! I have been dissatisfied with my inkjet printer because the printed image is darker the image shows on my monitor. Now, thanks to his chapter on Printers, I understand why, what kind of replacement printer to buy (and why), and how to calibrate the printer and the monitor to get the desired results. But I now also understand so much more. The book is 192 pages of information about Printers, Print media, Color and calibration, Image preparation, Making a print, Black and white (printing), and alternative Ways to use images. It is an easy read, full of photographs, tables, and illustrations, and logically organized. It has lots of information packed into a small book and I'm very glad I stumbled onto it!

Very basic, ok for pure beginners.

I'm a big fan of Ammonite Press published photography books. They are well written and explain some potentially complex topics very well. I have been dabbling with printing photos at home and have been looking to expand my printing capability. Printing is not quite as simple as load the paper and print as there are a whole host of things to think about. This is a well laid out book that guides you through a printing workflow but does focus more on printing through Photoshop. For me, I feel that it could have more to do with printing specifics, however does give you a good idea of what you need to do to get the prints you're after from your printer at home.

Useful, but not as concentrated on actual printing as I expected and as the title suggests. Quite a lot of content about manipulating images. Could have done with more detail about printing only.

Exellent book. Came well packaged and on time. Would recommend this book to any people who are thinkingof printing their own photos.
