Carson Dellosa The Complete Common Core State Standards Kit Pocket Chart Cards (158169) Cards – Organizer, June 3, 2013

I heard about these cards at a recent math workshop I attended. I was told they were $20, but purchased them on Amazon for $13. I had thought about making my own, but at $13, I couldn't resist. All the first grade common core standards for math and language arts are in the box. Each standard has it's own card and on the reverse of that card is the standard written in "I can" language which makes the standard much easier to understand (some of the standards seem too wordy to me and so I love the quick "I can" statements). Also in the box are dividers with tabbed tops that make it easy to organize the cards. For example one tab says, "Operations and Algebraic Thinking" and another "Number and Operations in Base Ten"... etc. All the math standard tabs are in red and the reading tabs are in blue. This box will make planning so easy and curriculum mapping a breeze! I would definitely tell all teachers to get this!

I'm using these in my classroom for the students to reference and to meet guidelines by the district. I really like that they explicitly put the standards and the codes on all cards.The cards are double sided with one side being the standard and one side putting the standard into an 'I can' statement.I use the 'I can' statement side of the standard cards for the students to be able to understand what they are learning and need to know.

The font is small but I am planning on using them during morning meeting and again at the wrap up at the end of the day to review what we learned. My first graders will be close enough to the pocket chart in our meeting place, they will be able to read them. I love the "I can" side of the standards. At first I thought I was missing a couple but when I checked the standards all were there that I needed. For example, 1. RL. 8 is not on the standards for first graders.

Quite handy for displaying Common Core State Standards, or I Can statements. The print is too small for the students to read easily, but mine are first grade and I don't need them to read it, really. I display what they need to read on my board, in hand written form. I love having this as a kit, ready to go.

This kit is great for use inside the classroom. At my school the standards need to be posted for the students and personnel to see and this kit makes it easy to post the standards in a neat and non-bulky way.

I came on time and just what I wanted.

I was hoping the print was bigger. They are hard to use because the print is small.

When ordering these, I was relying on past experiences with this product. The previously purchased strips were much larger with a larger font. These are small and impossible to read from across the classroom. Purchase these only if your students are not required to read them from their desks.
