For Those Interested in the Martial Aspects -- Definitely the best book on Amazon
I've read just about every book on Amazon relating to Bagua. This book literally has been *The Best* in terms of martial coverage and overall understanding. It is very obvious that Lu Shui Tien and Park Bok Nam really truly have an excellent understanding of the internal arts.I've found the footwork chapter to be the most interesting and most useful. It seems that many bagua books (and even teachers..) assume that just by walking the circle you'll gain an understanding of all the evasive footwork inherent in real combat. WRONG! This book really gives you the details to gain a better understanding of applicable footwork, beyond simply walking left or right of the opponent.Literally, my most prized book on Bagua. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent understanding of real bagua, a complete system.

A very readable and useful introduction to the essential elements of PaKua
I have a shelf full of books like this. So I like this topic. This book in particular is written in an open and forthright manner that seems well crafted to teach the reader about the topic. This is a welcome change from some similar books that seem directed at impressing rather than informing the reader.I particularly like the chapter on philosophy behind the system. It has a brief but excellent treatise on 5 element theory, creative and destructive cycles, and how they relate to Bagua. This is a good read for any serious martial arts student, and an essential read for any KungFu student.

The epitome, on the art of "Pa Kua Chang"!!!!
What I like about these books on "Pa Kua Chang", is how 'Sigung Park, Bok Nom'; presents a realistic format on learning the art of Pa Kua Chang. Progressively and gradually, the authors not only list techniques and drills; but actually show how to learn the art. As if you were training with them!!!!

Great work on Pa Kua
Perhaps the best written work on Pa Kua available from a technical point. Great for both beginner and advanced skill levels.

Good background and foundation material
Lots of good background and foundation material. Looks as if the more staid techniques are in volume 2

Not too hard, Not too Soft
I'll freely admit that I've not finished reading the whole of this book yet. However, I feel fully qualified to tell you just how good it is from the hundred or so pages I've read so far. This book is everything I hoped it to be- nothing more, nothing less. So, let me state for the record that I had high hopes for this book and am extremely pleased with the depth of work contained within. The information is all there to take the complete beginner up and through all the basics. The theory given to the reader is also sufficient enough to allow you to work things out for yourself and keep furthering your skill. The even writer informs you of areas he won't be telling you, since you don't need to know it yet and I find it very reassuring to be given the outlines of the full picture at least. I believe the majority of these things are covered in the second volume. This is my first martial arts related book and I don't think I could have chosen a better one. I find the theory of this art to be astounding and definately for the more intellectual fighters/philosophers out there. It seems to me to be the best internal style on the planet (i've researched quite a few from the internet). As soon as I can I'm moving to a city with a good intructor. I'm very serious about this and I have this book to thank for it.

Interessante Einblicke

Rezesion über Fundamentals of Pahua Chang Volume 1
