Worked great easy to install.
Worked great easy to install. I wish some items would come with better instructions. On the other hand when you pay so very little and you have YouTube. Took me about 5 minutes to do. Works great and back on the road!

Works great, especially if the car re-learns its Passlock code
Loved the easy installation (well, it was easy once we got the dash cover removed!) Unfortunately my car did not want to re-learn the Passlock code for the new key & lock combo, necessitating the installation of a cheap resistor bypass. Once the bypass was installed, car started up fine. Hopefully this is the end of my ignition key & cylinder problems!

If you have the SECURITY light or PASSLOCK issues ....
I just wanted to say that I purchased this in March 2023, and had ZERO issues with it. Everything worked as it should. It's now November 2024 and I'm back to buy another because i bent my key trying to use it to take a hub cap off lol and then tried to jam it in the ignition to make it work and IT DID STILL. But I'm back because of my own foolishness I need another but I am proof this is a great product.

Poorly made in China
I installed this exact same switch/key cylinder kit, 13 months ago on my mother's '01 Chevy Malibu. For the last several months, it occasionally wouldn't crank the engine over (needed several key switch turn attempts). Last week, it essentially stopped providing cranking/starter power no matter how many attempts were made. Maybe I should have my head examined, but due to the ratings & price point, I decided to order another one of these sets even though I don't even need the key cylinder lock portion and just re-used the original cylinder lock that came in the car (there was nothing wrong with it and I didn't wanna have to deal with the "Passlock" key re-learning procedure). During the replacement the other day, as I went to loosen the 2 mounting bolts, the threaded brass inserts in the plastic ignition switch mounting flange just started spinning around in the flange (the splined brass inserts were stripping out). With a little ingenuity, I used a flat blade screwdriver to apply pressure to the ignition switch flange in order to pry it away from the car dash as I was simultaneously ratcheting out the bolts. Prying it away from the dash while also turning the bolts, allowed the brass inserts to just slowly pull on out of the ignition flange altogether. This freed the ignition switch for removal, however the brass inserts were still holding the bolts captive to the car dash. I used a small pair of pliers to grab the inserts from behind, in order to be able to then also free & remove the bolts from the holes in the dash. All that said, after swapping in the new replacement switch, as I was (gently) tightening the aforementioned mounting bolts, the splines on the brass inserts in the NEW switch actually started slipping! This is a very poor design to use for these retaining inserts, obviously. I know that if/when I have to replace this switch again, I will have to use the same method to get the bolts & switch out again. I hope I get lucky and THIS switch lasts longer than the 13 months of the previous one. Buyer beware!
