An Awesome Piece of Cookware!
This is a wonderful piece of cookware! I needed a larger pan so I could cook enough at the same time and my meats would finish cooking at the same time so I was thrilled when I found out I would get to review this 12 inch frying pan. That the nonstick coating is made without using PFOA was important to me and so was the fact that it contains no cadmium or lead. This is an easy to handle pan. It does have some weight to it, but that is partly due to the fact that is is several inches bigger than the pans I have been used to using. This pan cooks fabulously! I quit using vegetable oil in my pans quite some time ago. It left a sticky residue that was very hard to remove after it had been heated so I only use real butter. This is how I have cooked in this pan and it cooks great! It cooks very evenly and the large size means everything cooks at the same time and gets done at the same time. After cooking and letting the pan cool, I wipe it out with a with a paper towel. I then use only hot water and liquid dish soap to wash the pan out. I never use harsh chemical cleaners or rough scrubbers on my pans. This this pan washes and rinses clean very easily. Almost effortlessly! Once rinsed, I simply wiped with a dry towel and it was a good as new! I like to really baby my non stick pans and don't let them get nested with other pans at all so they don't get scratched.I think the only addition that would be very helpful and would have been nice if it had been included, is a lid. One is shown in the photos, but is sold separately. Other than that I have no complaints about this pan. It has performed great and is an easy clean up.Despite not coming with the lid, I love this pan! It has so far proven to be high quality and think it is going to get lots of usage in our house. I plan to take great care to ensure it lasts a long, long time because it is already a favorite among my cookware!

Great pan but the handle attachment required extra work
The nonstick coating on this pan is fantastic. I haven't had any egg or cheese stick to this when using it for fried eggs or omelets in the morning. It actually works better without oil. I've noticed the oil just kind of collects in small puddles because it's so slick. I've purchased other brands of nonstick products in the past and the coating always became rough after a few months. Now, I've only had this for a few days but I think if I treat it right it should last much longer. I believe I mistreated the other nonstick products I used anyhow. I'm guessing this coating should probably last for at least a year if I don't overheat it or scrub off the surface. I don't expect any nonstick coating to last forever though to be honest. The pan feels nice and heavy like my iron skillets and has thick metals where needed such as at the bottom. I noticed I have to turn the heat up on the electric stove a little past medium and keep it there when frying eggs. In comparison the iron skillets take about the same amount of time to heat up and a little less heat for me. That's not a problem just something I noticed with my stove. I think it distributes the heat just as evenly as the iron. I haven't produced any eggs with crispy or watery parts. The only reason I knock off a star is because the handle took about an hour to get on securely. It should only take 30 seconds to get it on with a single screw but this particular pans handle would wobble up and down. What we discovered is that either the screw was slightly too long or the hole that was drilled into the pan was not deep enough. So, what we did was trim the screw slightly and it now holds the handle securely. I'm sure most of them don't have that problem but for me it was kind of unexpected.

Finally, the Magic Pan!
Several weeks back, I bit the bullet and purchased the TeChef 12" Wok/Stir Fry, since it had several intriguing features I liked: a thicker, flatter bottom -- which causes the sides to heat at the same rate; a five-coat teflon-like protection (my old wok was losing its coating after many years of use); an intriguing design (loved the oil measure), and color. After using this for a few weeks, I decided I needed another shot of TeChef magic. And, so, I purchased this 12" Frying Pan -- similar in many ways to the wok, but with a bigger flat bottom. But with a similar design and the same, superb coating. It is truly a Magic Pan!The biggest plus for me has been a combo of the even heating -- no need for high temps; medium works perfectly -- and a coating in which the food slides easily in the pan with but a touch of oil. I'd also purchased the 12" tempered glass lid -- with its terrific built-in stand -- with the wok, and it works perfectly with this frying pan, as well.In this case, I opted for the blue -- the wok is a purple, almost mauve -- just to see the difference in appearance as well as to be able to distiguish them easily at a distance. Glad I did. Finally, this pan now replaces the best frying pan I've ever had -- a Berndes pan purchased about 15 years ago, which has held up well but lacks the fabulous coasting protection of the TeChef. For sauteing and stir fry -- which is the basis for almost all of our cooking -- I now have the two pans, and one lid, I need -- all at a cost of under $100, total. Hard to beat that.P.S. While the wok set comes complete, the frying pan requires connecting the handle to the pan with the enclosed screw. Takes about a minute, at most, but if you do it yourself, I found it's easiest simply to hold the pan between your knees and give your Phillips screwdriver a few quick turns. Voila!

Excelente marca

Bastante pesado y poco durable.
