Worth the Money
Begins with a complete history of glass-making and the development of the paperweight industry to give the reader understanding and context when looking at a piece going forward. Importantly, contains color pictures of groupings of paperweights by region and maker, which makes learning to identify paperweights by the maker's style and so forth so much clearer and easier. Will never regret purchasing this book for my reference library. Also, arrived as described by seller - very pleased.

Beautiful book. My wife and I found this looking for another book on paperweights on Amazon's website. Wonderful way to learn about paperweights if you wish to become a collector or just learn about how these pieces are constructed. Many plates, two thirds of which are in color. Well worth it for the price.

Slimmed Down Version
I have just received Paperweights of the World and I am extremely disappointed. The description on Amazon tells us that this book has 655 pages, in reality it is 168 pages and just covers the most popular paperweights that many other books also describe. Amazon also states that the book has in excess of 1000 photographs. Now I have not counted these but taking into consideration there are only 100 pages of photographs and the maximum number to a page seems to be 3 (many pages only have 1 illustration) there are sub 300 photographs in this book.My book is a 4th edition, and I can only assume that previous editions had more pages and more photographs. Seems a drastic precis of their original work!!If you are interested in this book I would check carefully the edition and finally don't believe what you read in Amazon's description.

Lovely Book
Bought this book as a present for someone who collects paperweights so can't really comment on whether it's good or bad but it looked to be a lovely book to me. Beautifully illustrated.
