Spyderco Does it Again! Any Marine Will Tell You, They Make the Best Knives in the World. Lifetime Guarantee Too
Spyderco has done it again. Spyderco is the weapon for the Marines and also for the martial arts form known as Kali. They fight with sticks and knives, and Marine special forces are required to learn it. I studied this fighting method with an ex-Marine, and his first rule was never use your fighting knife for anything but. Because of this I wanted another Spyderco for around the house use. I also have the Bug which is a small Key Chain knife that is great to have, but I didn't want to dig for my keys whenever I needed a knife. This met my needs perfectly. It's small enough for me to keep in my pocket (important because women's pockets are absurdly small), and it gives me the perfect tool to open boxes as well as break them down. Anything I need to cut or open, I always have it right there on hand. Spyderco is not a gift you ever want to give to kids. They make the sharpest knives on the market, and they stay sharp longer than any knife I know of.All Spyderco products come with a lifetime guarantee. The company is located in Golden, Colorado so fi you're close by they will also sharpen the knives for you. Just make sure you look at the blade carefully. Spyderco has a big problem with people making counterfeits of their knives. If you look closely at the blade near the hilt it should say Spyderco on one side, and Seki-City Japan on the other. I spoke with a rep when I lived in Colorado to confirm this. If it says anything else (especially made in China) the company sent you a fake and you should report them immediately.

Excellent first aid kit knife since scissors are rounded at end.
Superior keychain or small pocket knife thanks to Spyderco pocket clip. I plan to use this in my everyday first aid kit since scissors are rounded at end like EMT scissors; safe for cutting bandages etc. Solid steel scales; strong springs; much more solid than a small Victorinox Swiss Army penknife. Blade does not lock back (to make it legal in Europe) but for its intended use this is OK.Both blade and scissors are very sharp. Scissors work well for cutting loose uniform threads etc. Needs a drop of light oil or dry lube since it is pretty dry from the factory. Would like to see a serrated blade version.De oppresso liber.

It is a single blade knife!
Purchased this pocket knife in October 2024 for the size of the blade and scissors. The blade is easy to keep sharpen and the scissors is completely unusable except for short thin cutting like threads. Can't even cut paper well. If it wasn't for the blade I would have returned it. Great idea for a small knife except ...scissor. ake it the designer did not test the prototype.

Fantastic combo knife, but be careful!
I've carried two knives for years: an SAG for its single blade, and a Leatherman Mini for its scissors. I made the mistake of not packing them the other day on a flight to Santa Fe and the TSA agent nabbed them (no complaint; my fault). This is a small, incredibly sharp knife and scissors combo that's lighter than my two together were before, so I'm happy...BUT, I ran my finger along the side of the blade when opening it for the first time and then saw blood all over the knife. Be forewarned...this is a small, but serious knife. However, in spite of my band-aids, I love it!

Scissor edges fold on first cut!
Very handy little knife, it doesn't lock, but the blade seems to stay open very well when using it. The only bad thing is that the first time I used the scissors, I cut some plastic and it took a chunk out of the blades immediately. I was asking a lot from this keychain tool, but the cutting edges on my Leatherman scissors have never folded so easily when cutting plastic. Disappointed in the scissor materials, better stick to cutting paper and leave the real work to real scissors and Leathermans! One other observation, Leatherman scissors seem to have a little friction between the edges and cut really well, the Spyderco scissors glide across each other without making a sound and don't seem to cut paper as cleanly as Leatherman scissors or real scissors for that matter.

Five Stars --- Updated
Great product.Updated on 1/5/2017I had previously rated this five stars but today less than a year later the scissor attachment has broken off. I will downgrade to one star.

Good little knife.
No major complaints. This is my first and only spiderco, and my one complaint is that the tight slip joint requires 2 fingers to open smoothly. Loosening the joint means the scissors won't lock into place and can't be used.
