Sturdy Little Light
If you would like to see the light pattern and how this light works, I recommend the excellent video review by D. Javier.I bought a Dorcy Waterproof LED flashlight almost a year ago, and from my experience it is waterproof. However, this is not a diving light. If you are looking for a scuba or snorkel light, you need to look for an underwater dive light. I purchased a dive light over 15 years ago, and at that time the good ones started at $20. This Dorcy waterproof light is designed to float, and I am guessing if you try to submerge it below the water, the O rings will not be sufficient to withstand the extra pressure. I'm also not sure I would trust it in saltwater. However, for the price and what this flashlight is designed to do, I am very pleased with my purchase. The 4 LED bulbs give a nice bright central cone, and lower intensity halo. I liked this light so much, I bought 2 for my nephews to take on their first fishing trip. I think this is a good flashlight for kids to use, as long as they are old enough to know better than to shine the light into someone's eyes. It is pretty sturdy and can survive some drops and being knocked around.Pros:-Brightness and light pattern-AA batteries!-good battery life-sturdy and somewhat shock-resistant-carabiner-type plastic clip-ergonomic rubber grips-size (lightweight, but big enough to find easily in a bag)Cons:-May not stay waterproof if you are in the water for hoursOverall, you can't beat this light at the price for a good general purpose flashlight. I bought mine for $7, and would say it is a great value at $9 or less. It is a nice light to take along in a boat, kayak, camping, around the house, or anywhere little hands may drop a flashlight on rocks, puddles, or mud.

Best Flashlights I Own
Pretty much the best flashlight I have ever bought. I now own 4 of them and will buy more. They have a very bright light, always seem to function - the on/off switch feels solid and never fails. Waterproof, lightweight, durable plastic and very reasonably priced. Who could ask for more? I've bought lots of different brands of flashlights over the years but this is the best by far. These flashlights are about 6 inches long and would be perfect for camping and keeping an extra one stashed in the car. Uses 3 AA batteries that even come with the flashlight. If any of these should malfunction I will definitely update this review.

Very good flashlight
I don't know what it is with flashlights today. They're tactical, metal, have multi-select switches, S.O.S. modes, strobe modes are super bright or not so bright and the batteries don't last that long. Okay, sure, I have my selection of these lights to play with and use but they are battery-eaters or require recharging. They're not that dependable for length of use or storage. Sure, I can illuminate something a quarter mile away or light up a room like it's sunrise but how often do I need to do that? I find that metal housed lights have a tendency to cause the batteries to leak (ahem...Mag Light) so I spend $30-$40 bucks on a light that I can't keep the batteries in while it's in the car. Or you go to look for something and have to hit the tail switch several times to cycle through all the modes so you can just get a basic light. I shouldn't have to teach anyone how to work a flashlight and I shouldn't have to worry about the light in my wife's vehicle going bad or dead. Or, if you go get a simple cheapie to keep tossed in a drawer, it's still 1980's tech and you can't see 5' in front of you. So I got these. Simplistic white LED, a basic on/off switch where it should be, rugged enough to toss in a glove box and the with low-drain LED bulbs, no worry of dead batteries after 30 minutes. They are also inexpensive without being cheap. These are great for walking around the house at night. I can easily see the second story of my house, my AC units or whatever else I need to look at. I hand it to my Grandkids and they instantly know how to use it. It's either on or it's off. Simple. It's a cone-spot pattern so if focuses the light on your project when your checking your breakers or widens out to about a 6' diameter from across two rooms in the house. Outside you probably get about 25' of usable light before the pattern widens out too much. This makes it great for changing a tire at night or walking though those anti light-pollution fixtures that resorts use these days. This light is not for you if you need to carry the sun in the palm of your hand or want a self-protection device but if your just need simple, long-lasting usable light for everyday tasks, get it.
